How to remove a mole surgically?

Everyone loves beauty, but everyone has pigmented moles to a greater or lesser extent. Women who love beauty will try every means to remove moles on their faces, especially black moles that grow all over the cheeks like stars in the sky. Nowadays, medical technology is relatively mature, and it is no longer difficult to remove moles on the face. Many people choose to remove moles with laser or surgery. Below, the editor will introduce some precautions for mole removal surgery.

The principle of mole excision is to remove all of it at once, with both breadth and appropriate depth to avoid leaving deeper mole cells in some areas unremoved. The advantage of mole excision is that its nature can be determined, and the removed mole can be subjected to pathological section examination. In case of malignant changes, measures can be taken as soon as possible for timely treatment.

So who is suitable for mole removal surgery? There are the following points:

1. The pigmented nevus suddenly increases in size, turns black, becomes inflamed, ulcerated, scabs over, and bleeds easily.

2. Pigmented nevi that grow in areas susceptible to friction irritation.

3. Pigmented moles that affect appearance.

4. Those whose moles have not responded to non-surgical treatment or those whose moles remain after non-surgical treatment.

Contraindications: Surgery is not recommended when general condition does not allow it.

Things to note after mole removal surgery:

1. Keep the surgical site clean and dry to prevent infection.

2. Depending on the location of the surgery, inform the patient of the specific time for suture removal: 5-7 days for facial surgery and 10-14 days for limb surgery.

3. Avoid spicy food, develop good living habits, and smokers should temporarily quit smoking to promote wound healing.

4. You can take a shower the next day after the stitches are removed. You can use drugs such as Lipusone, Kangruibao, and Scar Diluent on the wound to prevent scar hyperplasia.

5. Advise the patient to avoid strong light and ultraviolet light in the near future to prevent pigmentation.

6. For areas with high tension, advise the patient to use elastic bandages for compression for 1-3 months after surgery to prevent scar hyperplasia.

The above are the precautions for surgical mole removal. We must pay attention to abnormal changes in any part of the body. For example, when a mole on the body shows signs of enlargement, itching, pain, etc., we must pay attention to it, because the mole may turn into melanoma. Although the probability is not high, no one wants to encounter it. It is best to go to the hospital for examination and removal as soon as possible just in case.
