The difference between moisturizing and hydrating

The difference between moisturizing and hydrating

With the development of the times, people pay more attention to dressing than before. It is precisely because of this that more and more cosmetics, beauty and skin care products have been produced one after another. With so many cosmetics available, many people start to get confused. Many people who are new to cosmetics don’t understand a lot of things. Take moisturizing and hydrating for example. There are so many moisturizing cosmetics and hydrating cosmetics on the market now that many people can’t tell the difference between the two.

If you want to distinguish between two things, you naturally have to know the difference between them first, so that you can distinguish the two things based on the difference between them. So today I will share with you the difference between moisturizing and hydrating. So that everyone can understand it in their hearts.

In fact, hydration and moisturizing are two concepts that need to be clearly distinguished. Hydration, as usually referred to, only replenishes the moisture on the surface of the skin and does not achieve the deep moisturizing and water-locking effect. However, because people are accustomed to calling moisturizing and hydration together, there is often a misunderstanding that confuses the two.

Moisturizing is the key to keeping fair and flawless skin. Once the skin is dehydrated, ugly fine lines will appear. However, due to the vague understanding of the two concepts, many girls often fail to know how to moisturize. Moisturizing usually refers to allowing moisture to enter the deep cells of the skin and firmly lock the moisture at the bottom of the skin, thereby preventing the moisture from being lost and making the skin look crystal clear. But many people often just hydrate without moisturizing.

1. Do not stay in the dry steam room for more than 10 minutes, and apply moisturizing lotion as soon as possible after coming out.

2. Exfoliate your face and limbs 1-2 times a week. Avoid rubbing too hard. Rub gently for a few minutes and your skin will be smooth and tender again.

3. When your skin is "thirsty" in the afternoon, you can temporarily clean it with a no-rinse cleanser, apply moisturizing products, and apply day cream to lock in moisture.

4. After cleansing, apply moisturizing products in a gradual penetration manner multiple times. Apply at least 1-2 layers more than in summer, especially moisturizing day cream and moisturizing lotion.

5. Hyaluronic acid hydrates and moisturizes. Hyaluronic acid is the safest and most effective moisturizer in skin care products. It is not affected by climate and is committed to hydrating and moisturizing the skin.

6. If you apply moisturizer within 5 minutes after bathing, it will be absorbed quickly. If you delay it for too long, the skin's absorption capacity will drop rapidly.

7. Apply toner after washing your face. Apply toner immediately after washing your face. If you apply toner within 30 seconds to 2 minutes after washing your face, the water content in the skin can be instantly increased. Therefore, experts suggest that if you want to keep your skin hydrated, it is best to put toner and moisturizing lotion in the bathroom, and apply them on your face after washing your face. Do not wait until the moisture on your face dries up before applying it, otherwise the effectiveness of skin care will be greatly reduced.

8. Eat more fruits. Fruits can deeply hydrate and moisturize the skin, so of course they cannot be omitted. However, eating fruits with high sugar content will consume water, so you may want to eat more less sweet fruits such as citrus, strawberries, and grapes.

Moisturizing tips

Use cleanser correctly

Cleansing products such as cleansers often take away both moisture and oil from the face, so it is almost impossible to rely on them to moisturize the face. But facial cleansing still needs to be done, so you should choose a cleansing product with a gentler and more moisturizing texture to minimize water loss.

After cleansing, of course, you need to spray toner. The biggest function of toner is to hydrate the stratum corneum. It is a hydrating product, but its moisturizing effect is not long-lasting. If you just pat the skin surface gently with your hands, the moisture will stay for a very short time. If you press it with a cotton ball or cotton pad, the effect will be much better.

Essence cream and face cream are the key to moisturizing

Don’t think that moisturizing is that simple. The previous steps are just the basic work of moisturizing. The most important thing is the care of essence cream and facial cream. Don't be too impatient. Wait until the toner is completely dry before applying essence and cream, which will be more conducive to absorption. To achieve better results, you can combine it with hand massage to lock moisture deeply into the bottom layer of the skin.

The most moisturizing sleeping mask

The last trick for moisturizing is using a sleeping mask. There are generally three types of masks: fabric type, wash-off type, and sleeping type. Among these three types, the woven type focuses on hydrating the stratum corneum; the wash-off type can penetrate deep into the skin; and the sleeping mask has the strongest moisturizing effect. If you use all three together, that is, apply the sleeping mask after making the fabric and wash-off masks, your skin will definitely be hydrated and fair. Moreover, 11 pm to 2 pm is the golden time for skin repair. While you are sleeping, the nutrients of the sleeping mask are being quickly absorbed by the skin, and you will definitely receive unexpected results when you wake up the next day.

Moisturizing cotton pad

Most moisturizing lotions contain moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and trehalose, but they take relatively time to penetrate. Using a thick piece of cotton pad can help it penetrate deeper into the skin texture, seal and pressurize it for penetration, and finally you can apply a wet compress, taking a multi-pronged approach.

The above is an introduction to the differences between moisturizing and hydrating. I believe that after reading this, you will know which one you need and be able to tell the difference. It also saves people from making mistakes when using them because they can't tell the difference, which is not good. And only when we use cosmetics correctly can we dress ourselves up beautifully.
