What are the dangers of removing moles and spots?

Having moles and spots on the body is very painful for people who love beauty, because they seriously affect the appearance. Therefore, many people choose to remove moles and spots to remove these blemishes. In fact, removing moles and spots is not perfect. It is harmful to the human body. The first major harm is that it may cause scars.

1. The harm of mole and spot removal

1. Scars: Generally, after removing moles or spots, the doctor will ask you not to drink beverages with pigments, and it is also not recommended to eat foods with soy sauce or vinegar. This is because laser mole removal will leave a small pit on the face. If you eat these foods, the color of the laser area will easily become darker, forming a pigmented mole that is larger than the original one. However, if you insist on not eating anything containing pigments for more than a week after the mole removal, especially soy sauce and vinegar, then the mark will not be very obvious.

2. Recurrence: If the cancer is removed surgically, it generally will not recur. However, if it is removed by laser or other methods, it may recur. Normally, laser mole removal requires three to four sessions, with three to four months in between. It is difficult to completely remove the mole in one session.

3. Infection: Do not scratch the scabby wound at will to prevent infection of the wound. When applying skin care products on your face after mole removal, be sure not to apply them to the wound, as this will cause infection of the wound.

2. Precautions after removing moles and spots

1. Before the wound heals, the affected area should not come into contact with water. For local treatment, chloramphenicol eye ointment or other antibiotic ointment can be applied three times a day (morning, noon, and before bedtime).

2. Do not scratch the mole after removal to avoid inflammation or infection, which may lead to scars or pigmentation. If inflammation develops, contact your physician.

3. After the mole is removed, a scab will form locally. The scab will fall off automatically in about a week. After the scab falls off, the color will sometimes deepen to dark red. It will recover in about one to six months.

4. After the wound heals, do not scratch the healing skin frequently with your hands to avoid stimulating scar hyperplasia.

5. After mole removal, the treated area should be avoided from sunlight to avoid sunburn and pigmentation. But don't think that all your problems are solved after mole removal. You still need to protect yourself from the sun after the operation. Follow the doctor's instructions to apply antibiotic ointment or apply artificial skin before the wound scabs and falls off to ensure the best effect. After the stitches are removed after excision surgery, a cosmetic patch should be applied for 3 to 6 months.
