How to dye your hair evenly

How to dye your hair evenly

I believe everyone knows the truth that doing it yourself can bring you plenty of food and clothing. Going to a hair dye shop will not only cost you hundreds of dollars, but the results may not be ideal. It is better to dye your hair at home more evenly and the effect will still be very beautiful. So how to dye your hair correctly and effectively?

Steps/Methods

1. Stay true to the original color

Regardless of your hair color before dyeing, whether it is your natural hair color or has been artificially changed, you must be loyal to your original color when choosing a new hair color and choose it according to the tone of your original hair color. Professional hairstylists recommend that whether you dye your hair darker or lighter, the color should not differ from the original hair color by more than two colors, otherwise it will be too exaggerated.

Choose cool colors

If you're dying your hair for the first time, it's easy to end up with a dull, sandpaper-like look by using a "warm-toned" color that's meant for lighter hair. So it would be much safer to choose cool or neutral colors.

Make sufficient preparations before dyeing

Usually one can of hair dye is enough for one use for people with medium to long hair (that is, hair that reaches around the shoulders). If your hair is particularly long or thick, you must prepare enough fuel before dyeing it, otherwise it will be embarrassing to run out of fuel halfway through dyeing.

Use professional tools

Usually the hair dyeing tools that come with hair dye are relatively simple and have limited uses. So to achieve better results, go to a beauty tool store and buy more professional (or at least sturdier) tools. For example, gloves used for hair dyeing cannot be made of just a thin layer of transparent plastic.

Do a color test first

Rather than regretting your new hair color later if you don't like it, you should test the color on a small section of hair below the surface before dyeing your hair.

Be careful when dyeing your hair roots

The most common embarrassment when DIY hair dyeing is that the color of the hair roots is inconsistent with the original hair color! Even if you use the same brand and color of hair dye, if the dye is repeatedly added from the roots of the hair to other parts during the waiting process, the color of the re-dye will be different from the previous color. To prevent accidents, you can ask a friend for help, or find a three-sided mirror to see where to apply the dye from all angles. If you want to touch up the color of the already dyed areas, use a comb to comb the dye into the ends of your hair 5 minutes before washing your hair, and then wash all your hair after 5 minutes.

Take care of your hair after dyeing to keep it looking fresh

The more you cherish your hair, the better its color will remain. Therefore, after dyeing your hair, choose shampoo and conditioner formulated for dyed hair, and do deep conditioning at least once a week.

Covering Gray Hair Naturally

If you are dyeing your hair to cover a lot of gray hair, then choose a color number halfway between gray hair and your natural hair color. This way the color will look more natural and will not be too abrupt even if new hair grows out.

Be careful with curly hair

Since curly hair is drier, it naturally absorbs hair dye more easily and takes on color faster than straight hair, which naturally makes it more susceptible to damage. So when dyeing curly hair, reduce the amount of dye by 1/4 and replace it with distilled water. After mixing, use it as usual.
