How to deal with open acne

Open comedones are a type of open acne, also called blackheads. The main reason is that oil clogs the pores for a long time, and if you don’t pay attention to washing your face, your face will look uneven and not smooth. It is very difficult to put on makeup on my skin, and it is easy to get stuck. The most important thing is to get rid of the closed comedones first.

Open comedones, also known as open comedones, are also called blackheads. The reason for this is that oil clogs the pores, and some dirt is "sulfurized" by sulfur dioxide in the air, forming black and hard lumps, which will gradually enlarge the pores. Open comedones tend to grow on both sides of the nose and on the chin. Because the pores are open, they are easier to squeeze out.

The other type is closed comedones, which are hidden under the skin. They are not red, swollen, painful or itchy, but they feel like a bumpy mass to the touch. The forehead and chin are the worst affected areas. They are usually small white bumps on the face and may not be visible from a distance. You have to touch it with your hands to feel it. Some people can see that their faces are uneven and rough when the light is sideways.

Don’t think that closed comedones that are painless and itchy are just unsightly. They are unstable acne and can easily develop into pimples. After they burst and become inflamed, they become pimples or open comedones!

Even if it doesn't erupt, do you think it will just stay there? ! If it breaks out early, it can be solved early. If it keeps swelling there, it is simply a disaster. It may even cause closed comedones in large areas. Moreover, long-term blockage may cause difficult-to-deal-with inflammation problems! Do you know? Many whiteheads are very "conservative" and will never "open" throughout their lives. It usually takes 5 months for the closed comedones to reach their growth peak.

The relationship between closed comedones, blackheads and acne

Closed comedones

Comedones = uninflamed pimples

Acne is the result of inflammation of comedones

Closed comedones are one of the most difficult acne problems to treat.

We can easily remove blackheads and whiteheads, but closed comedones grow under your skin (simply blocked but without inflammation), and it is difficult to remove them even if you pick them with your hands or poke them with a needle. Unless the closed comedones become inflamed, we can squeeze them out more easily.

Why do people keep their mouths shut? Can it be prevented?

The formation of closed comedones is mainly due to the formation of keratin plugs by sebum and abnormally keratinized keratinocytes, which block the exit of hair follicles. But in fact, it is all our own fault!

The distribution of closed comedones may also be related to your usual habits. You can compare them and then check your usual skin care habits to make targeted improvements!

1. If your closed comedones are concentrated at your hairline and you usually wear makeup, then 90% of the time it is caused by not removing makeup properly. (The solution is to remove makeup carefully, paying special attention to the hairline)

2. If your closed comedones are concentrated in the T-zone and chin, which are frequently oily, it is very likely caused by a thick stratum corneum and excessive oil secretion. (The solution is to exfoliate regularly and wash your face with an oil-control or strong cleanser!)
