What is the difference between epicanthoplasty and lateral canthoplasty?

Canthoplasty is a very common cosmetic procedure currently used by people to enlarge their eyes. Make it look more lively, and can be divided into two ways: inner canthus opening and outer canthus opening. Opening the inner canthus means opening the part of the eye near the bridge of the nose. Canthoplasty is to open the corner of the eye near the temple. So what is the difference between inner canthus opening and outer canthus opening?

1. Precautions before surgery

(1) Do not take medications containing aspirin within two weeks before surgery, as aspirin can reduce the ability of platelets to clot.

2. Postoperative precautions

(1) Try to avoid getting the surgical area wet within 7 days after surgery.

(2) Ensure that the surgical site is clean to prevent infection. If there is blood scab or secretion on the wound, wipe it with sterile saline.

(3) After surgery, apply pressure to the local wound or use an ice pack for cooling.

(4) Avoid eating spicy foods such as chili peppers.

(5) Strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for medication and follow-up visits.
