The correct way to use essential oils

Essential oil is abbreviated as essential oil. It is a substance produced by plant extracts. In addition to its aroma, it can play a very good role in conditioning and health care of the skin. It helps the body absorb the nutrients in the essential oil. At the same time, it can stimulate the secretion of the pituitary gland and promote the secretion of hormones. It can regulate the body and prevent diseases. There are many ways to use essential oils, such as fumigation, inhalation and so on.

Method 1: Steam fumigation

Pour clean water into the water container of the aromatherapy burner and add 5-6 drops of essential oil. Light the candle and place it in the aromatherapy burner, and wait for the heat to slowly release the essential oil in the water. By mixing different essential oils and dropping them into the aromatherapy burner, different effects can be achieved, which helps to create different atmospheres.

Method 2: Inhalation

1. Home inhalation method

Pour nearly boiling water into a glass or porcelain basin. Choose 1-3 essential oils and drop them into the hot water, with a total of no more than six drops. Stir the essential oils thoroughly. Cover your entire head and washbasin with a large bath towel, and breathe alternately through your mouth and nose for 5-10 minutes. 2 drops of lavender + 2 drops of mint can treat colds.

(ii) Simple inhalation method

Put 1-3 drops of essential oil on a face towel or handkerchief and smell it

(3) People who drive long distances easily become fatigued in their sense of smell, so it is necessary to prepare two or three essential oils and use them alternately to achieve the desired effect (mint, basil, rosemary, etc. are very effective).

Method 3: Massage

Health massage generally starts from the back. Place your hands on both sides of the spine above the buttocks, palms facing down, and move along both sides of the vertebrae toward the shoulders. When you reach the neck, extend your hands outward, massaging both sides of the ribs while massaging the shoulders, and then return to the starting point. The massage must be done in one go and never stop in the middle. Dilute 2-3 kinds of essential oils (a total of 3 drops) in 3-4 ml of vegetable massage oil and massage the face, head, neck, shoulders or body.

Method 4: Aromatherapy mouthwash

Add 2-3 drops of essential oil to a cup of water, stir well, rinse your throat for 10 seconds, then spit it out. Repeat until the entire cup of water is used up. Rinse your mouth with aromatherapy every day to keep your breath fresh, protect your teeth, and reduce laryngitis. Commonly used essential oils: tea tree, lavender, peppermint. When you have a toothache, take a drop of cinnamon, without diluting it, and apply it directly to the painful area with a cotton swab to relieve the toothache.

Method 5: Pressing method

Cold or hot compresses

Add 3-6 drops of essential oil to cold water (cold compress) or hot water (hot compress), stir evenly, soak a towel, wring the towel dry, apply it on your face, and gently press the towel covering your face with both hands to allow the moisture containing the essential oil to penetrate into the skin as much as possible. Repeat the above steps 5-10 times. When applying massage to any part of the body, the ratio of water to essential oil is about 200ml of cold or hot water with 5 drops of essential oil, while only 1 drop of essential oil is needed for the face.

Cold compresses can relieve, calm, and soothe. To relieve pain, hot compress can help promote blood circulation, eliminate toxins or increase skin permeability. Commonly used essential oils include lavender, violet, rosemary, geranium, jasmine, rose, lemon, etc.
