What are the dangers of handmade lipstick?

Purely handmade lipstick is relatively safe, but it is best to make it yourself so that you know the ingredients in it and it is safe and hygienic. However, it is not necessarily the case if you buy it. There are some vendors with bad consciences who use inferior materials to make money and do not pay attention to hygiene at all in order to increase production, so it will be bad for your health after use.

Tools/Raw Materials

Tools needed to make lipstick: beaker, glass rod, thermometer

Materials needed: Grease Beeswax Lip balm tube

We pack all the materials together in the material pack. If there is cocoa butter or shea butter, it may solidify in the bottle. Before use, soak the oil bottle in warm water for a while and use it after it melts!

Methods/Steps

Step 1: Pour all the fat into the beaker and all the beeswax into the beaker

Step 2: Heat in water and stir gently until all melted

Water heating means: a large pot is boiling water, and then a glass beaker is placed in the water to heat it using the heat of the water.

[Please note: Do not add too much water when heating the beaker to avoid water entering the beaker]

There have been customers who have encountered such a situation, resulting in failure and waste of materials

Step 3: After everything is melted, take out the beaker, put in the thermometer, and test the temperature

Step 4: When the temperature drops to about 60-65 degrees, add essence or essential oil, stir well, and then pour into the lipstick tube.

1: How much essential oil to add? There is no strict requirement. If you like it more fragrant, add more; if it is lighter, add less.

2: Pour the lipstick into the tube and fill it up one tube at a time. Take your time and don't rush. If it solidifies, return it to the pot and continue heating it in water.

The lipstick can be used after it solidifies. It will be completely solidified in about 1 hour! Shelf life: 2 years

Precautions

Tip 1: The filling temperature of lipstick is very important. If the temperature is too high, it will leak out of the lipstick tube. If the temperature is too low, it will delaminate and break!

Tip 2: Natural lipstick does not have any additives, so it is easier to break. When using, rotate out as much as you need. Do not rotate out too much to avoid being unable to rotate it back!
