Does it hurt to have double eyelids? What are the methods?

Eyes are very important organs on our face. Many people feel that double-eyelids look big, beautiful, and especially energetic, so girls with single eyelids will undergo surgery to create double eyelids. At present, double eyelid surgery is a relatively minor operation, and many beauty salons have such services. However, many women are more concerned about whether the operation hurts. Now let’s talk about whether double eyelid surgery hurts.

1. Answer one:

You won't feel anything during the operation because of the anesthesia, and the operation time is relatively short. It's best not to be bumpy on the road after the operation. It will be a little painful after the anesthetic effect. Generally, you can have the stitches removed in two or three days. Your eyes will be swollen after the stitches are removed, but it will go away slowly, generally in one or two months. After the stitches are removed, try to look up, apparently for better effect and to make you look natural in the future. It's better to ask your doctor about this.

2. Answer 2:

The patient will not feel any pain during the double eyelid surgery because anesthesia will be injected before the surgery. Generally, the patient will not feel anything. The surgery can be easily completed after a simple operation of about an hour. After the anesthesia wears off, the patient may feel some discomfort, but for most patients it is tolerable. However, there may be some pain and swelling during the recovery period after double eyelid surgery, and the patient needs to follow the doctor's instructions and take good care of herself. This discomfort will disappear as the trauma of the double eyelid surgery heals, so patients do not need to worry too much.

What are the methods of double eyelid surgery?

1. Suture ligation

It is suitable for people with large palpebral fissures, thin eyelids, little fat, and no sagging upper eyelid skin. The suture ligation method is simple and easy to perform. The "non-surgical" and "one-stitch" double eyelid removal mentioned in beauty advertisements usually belongs to this category. If the surgical effect is not good, the incision method can be used for correction. For those who are not satisfied with the appearance of their double eyelids, the sutures can be cut off within a few days after the operation to restore their original single eyelid appearance. The swelling after the operation was minimal and there was no obvious incision scar. The disadvantage is that after the adhesion between the eyelid and the tarsal plate loosens, the upper eyelid fold becomes shallower or even disappears. The surgery cannot remove the loose upper eyelid skin and excess orbital fat. This method has limited indications and is only suitable for young people with thin eyelid skin, little eyelid roller and orbital septum fat. And the double eyelids that form disappear quickly.

2. Thread embedding method

It is suitable for those with thin upper eyelid subcutaneous tissue and non-protruding orbital septum fat. The buried suture method buries the suture knot between the dermis and the tarsal plate, where it remains permanently. It is more firmly adhered than the suture ligation method, but the correct anatomical level must be mastered. The disadvantage is that the thread knots are easy to loosen and the double eyelids are easy to disappear, but the thread can be buried again to form a firm adhesion.

3. Incisional method

It involves cutting open the upper eyelid skin to make the double eyelid anatomically similar to a natural double eyelid. This method is applicable to any patient. Double eyelids will not disappear. For older patients with loose and wrinkled skin or bulging orbital fat, a small amount of skin and part of the orbital fat can be removed to alleviate the symptoms of loose and bloated upper eyelids. The disadvantage is that there is obvious swelling after the operation. Some patients will experience long-term swelling and leave a tiny incision scar in the early stage.
