What kind of aloe vera can be applied directly on the face

Aloe vera is a plant that is likely to be planted in every household nowadays because it can effectively purify the air while eliminating harmful substances such as formaldehyde. It can not only be used as an ornamental plant, but also made into facial masks. However, there are quite a lot of varieties of aloe vera. What kind of variety can be used to make facial masks to help me improve the condition of my facial skin? Let us introduce it to you today.

1. Aloe Vera Variety Selection

According to research, there are more than 300 species of wild aloe, but only 6 of them have edible, medicinal and beauty value, mainly Aloe barbadensis, Aloe vera, Aloe vera hordea, Aloe vera yuanjiang, etc.; and Aloe barbadensis is the most widely used aloe variety in beauty, medicine and food because of its own ingredients and growth habits. Therefore, when talking about beauty aloe, it generally refers to American Aloe barbadensis.

2. Removal of aloe-emodin

When you cut the aloe leaf with a knife, you will find a yellow liquid with a slightly pungent smell flowing out. This is aloe-emodin. Aloe-emodin is a widely used medicinal material with anti-tumor activity, antibacterial activity, immunosuppressive activity and laxative effect. It is now widely used as a raw material for medicines and cosmetics. However, it can also cause allergic reactions in some people with allergic skin, with red spots appearing on the skin and a slight itchy feeling. (When the skin is severely dehydrated, applying an aloe vera juice mask will also cause an itchy feeling)

The method to remove aloe-emodin is also very simple: cut the aloe leaves into small pieces, soak them in clean water for more than 10 minutes, or directly add aloe-specific decomposition solution to decompose emodin and other allergens in aloe.

3. Do an allergy test before use

If you are still worried about aloe vera causing skin allergies, you can first apply a small amount of aloe vera on your arm, wait for 2 hours and then apply it again. If there is no allergic reaction, it means that your skin is not allergic to aloe vera and you can safely use the aloe vera juice mask.

4. Emergency treatment for allergies

If you accidentally use aloe vera and get allergic reaction, don't be afraid. Wash your face with warm water and a few drops of white vinegar, don't wear makeup, keep your face fresh, and it will be back to normal in a few days without leaving scars!
