Tips for allergic reactions to facial cosmetics

Tips for allergic reactions to facial cosmetics

Before using cosmetics, women should consider whether some of the ingredients contained in these cosmetics will cause allergies on their faces. Most cosmetics contain a certain amount of alcohol. People with sensitive skin will experience uncomfortable reactions on their faces after using these cosmetics. If your face is allergic to cosmetics, you should stop using them immediately. And what are some tips for allergy relief?

The cause of cosmetic allergy is that certain ingredients in cosmetics stimulate skin cells, causing skin cells to produce antibodies, thus leading to allergies. The most common allergens in cosmetics are fragrances, preservatives and heavy metals.

Heavy metals mainly refer to cosmetics with excessive lead and mercury content that have exfoliating and whitening properties;

Fragrances include: Grandiflora Jasmine Essence, New International Essence, Tuberose Type A Essence, White Rose Essence, Lilac Essence, Osmanthus Essence;

Preservatives include: Imidazolidinyl urea, parabens, Bromopol, formaldehyde. There are also hair dyes such as p-phenylenediamine, cobalt chloride, nickel sulfate, and rosin. If the fragrance is not pure natural high-quality essential oil, but inferior fragrance or chemical fragrance, then people with hereditary sensitive skin are very likely to develop cosmetic contact dermatitis and aggravate their original disease when using cosmetics in a highly sensitive state.

What to do if you are allergic to cosmetics

Stop using cosmetics

If skin allergies occur, stop using any cosmetics immediately and observe and care for your skin. If you must use cosmetics on necessary occasions, choose cosmetics that do not have strong fragrances and do not contain irritating alcohol.

Pay attention to the use of sunscreen products

Sensitive skin has a thinner layer and has no defense against ultraviolet rays, making it prone to aging. Therefore, it is good to use brush-based skin care products for isolation and then use sunscreen. However, sunscreen ingredients can also easily cause skin cancer, so it is best not to apply directly to the surface. Recently, some manufacturers have used less chemical sunscreen and more body ingredients, which are relatively less irritating to the skin. At the same time, avoid overexposure, because ultraviolet rays have extremely strong penetrating power, and frequent contact can cause the skin to become thinner and more susceptible to irritation.

Avoid external stimulation

Avoid various external stimuli, such as washing with hot water, violent scratching, excessive scrubbing, etc. There are many friends who are allergic to themselves after using hot water to heat, using salt or pepper, or just scratching desperately until bleeding. Although these measures are very effective for a period of time, after stopping, the initial damage is more serious, and then further irritation is greater, leading to a vicious cycle of skin deterioration.

Facial Treatment

Avoid using fiber sponges, terry towels, or anything with a rough surface, as these will only further irritate your skin. Next, use a spray bottle and fill it with cool distilled water to spray your skin. Caring for allergic skin requires extra care. After cleansing your skin in the morning, in addition to moisturizing, you should also use a day cream specially for sensitive skin. After washing your face at night, first cover your face with a hot towel for 2 minutes, then cover it with a cold towel for 1 minute, then apply nourishing lotion on your face, gently pat it to allow the skin to absorb it more easily, and finally apply a moisturizing and anti-allergic nourishing night cream.

Apply a facial mask

Use a gentle powder mask. This mask is relatively simple to make.

Simply mix calamine, oatmeal, and zinc with distilled water to a consistency similar to that of thick soap. Then apply it to the skin. This mask can quickly reduce redness and relieve itching. Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash it off with cool distilled water.

Desensitization therapy

If the allergic symptoms are not relieved, you need to seek medical attention promptly and undergo desensitization treatment. The treatment is mainly symptomatic, including anti-allergy treatment, and a variety of allergy medicines taken orally or intramuscularly, while giving some appropriate local medicines such as calamine lotion or external use such as hormones.
