Things to note after facial fillers

1. Full face bandage replacement time

After full-face autologous fat filling surgery, the surgeon will ask the patient to wear a facial bandage with special dressings inside. Generally speaking, facial bandages and headgear should be worn for about 10 days.

2. Bathing and washing after surgery

In principle, you can wash your face 48 hours after surgery. But clinically, we would recommend that patients wash their faces as late as possible. Unlike traditional surgeries where the wound cannot be exposed to water for fear of infection, the wound in full-face autologous fat filling surgery is extremely small and basically will not cause infection. The reason why patients are advised to wash as late as possible is because the autologous fat injected has not yet stabilized. If the operated area is rubbed vigorously while washing, it may cause fat displacement and affect the postoperative effect.

3. How long does it take for the swelling to subside after surgery?

Like other surgeries, full-face autologous fat grafting surgery will also cause traumatic edema after surgery, which usually disappears within a week after surgery. After the edema disappears clinically, the patient will also experience a process of reduction in the local volume of the facial filling area, which generally lasts for 2 to 3 weeks.

4. Avoid seafood, spicy food, beef, mutton, tobacco, alcohol and other irritating foods within one week.

5. Do not rub, pinch or press your face hard within one month after the operation. Do not make large facial expressions and do not laugh too loudly.

6. Do not go to the sauna or hot spring within 1 month after the operation. Do not put makeup or apply irritating skin care products, such as acids or exfoliants on your face.
