How to apply eyeshadow for stage makeup

If you are going to some performances, you should wear stage makeup. There are certain differences between these two types. So how to apply eye shadow for stage makeup?

1. Primer

The base of stage makeup should be thick. Don’t be afraid of it looking fake, because there will be lights on the stage. Once the lights are on, the thick base makeup will appear even and energetic.

2. Loose powder

The main function of loose powder is to prevent makeup from being smudged, especially around the eyes. The makeup is very dense after applying eye shadow. Moreover, there are many sensitive nerves near the eyes, which are prone to oiliness and sweating. Loose powder has the effect of absorbing oil and sweat.

It is best to use loose powder in the color of your skin. Applying too much other colors will affect the effect of your eye makeup.

3. Eyeshadow primer

The eyeshadow for stage makeup should be in the same color as the clothing, but a brown base should also be used. The part close to the eyes should be darker in color, and the color should decrease in descending order. This way of drawing eye makeup is more natural and not abrupt.

4. Apply eye shadow

As mentioned in step 3, the color of the eye shadow should be in the same color scheme as the clothing, and there should be at least three degrees of variation. For example: if it is blue, it needs three layers of color: dark blue, light blue, and silver. The last color can be silver or white mixed with the previous colors, which can show the level without being too messy.

When applying eye shadow, you should apply it layer by layer, instead of applying one color in a line and then continuing with the next color. This will create clear boundaries and look ugly.

5. Touch up your makeup

Stage makeup is usually applied long before going on stage, and it can easily fade away in hot weather. So touch-up is also important. When touching up your makeup, first press oil-absorbing paper on your eyes to absorb sweat and oil, apply loose powder with a powder brush, and then use the smallest makeup brush to lightly apply eye shadow according to the color of the eye shadow.

Be careful to apply less dark eyeshadow. If you can't control the strength, use light colors. After all, the stage makeup is already very heavy. Applying too much dark eyeshadow will be too heavy, and the dark color will cover the light part and affect the layering of the eyeshadow.
