​Red marks on the bridge of the nose after expanded polytetrafluoroethylene rhinoplasty

What should I do?

1. Seven days after expanded polytetrafluoroethylene rhinoplasty, red marks appeared on the bridge of the nose and did not disappear. If you are worried, you can remove the expanded tissue. It can usually be restored to its original state.

3. If the tip of your nose is still red and swollen one week after rhinoplasty, you must go to the hospital for a follow-up visit in time to find out the cause of the redness and then receive treatment.

4 There are generally two situations in which the nose bridge becomes red after rhinoplasty: One is that under normal circumstances, the nose bridge becomes red after rhinoplasty, which usually recovers in a week. If the nose bridge is still red, it is not a good sign and it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for treatment.

5 The reasons for the redness of the nose bridge after silicone rhinoplasty are: too shallow placement of the prosthesis, chronic rejection, external impact, skin inflammation, too tight and thin skin on the dorsum of the nose, too large a prosthesis

6 Although rhinoplasty is a simple operation, improper handling will increase the chances of postoperative movement, deflection, infection, rejection of the prosthesis, and even cause complications such as skin breakdown, necrosis, and erosion. The design before rhinoplasty should be reasonable, the prosthesis should not be too large, skin inflammation should be avoided and treated in time. The implant is placed correctly in the cavity and fits closely to the nasal bone. Take care to protect your nose from external impact.

7 Silicone rubber prostheses can be prefabricated with various shapes and models such as nose tip, nose wing, and nose columella. There are currently two commonly used types, one is willow-leaf shape and the other is L-shaped.
