The reason why hair loss occurs is partly due to the lack of vitamin A in the body, so it is necessary to obtain this nutrient through diet. However, the treatment effect relying solely on diet is not so significant. In this process, it should also be combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment, so that the hair loss situation can be well controlled. For example, you can drink some Chinese medicinal materials with therapeutic effects. Seborrheic alopecia is called "pillar tinea" or "worm-eaten alopecia" in traditional Chinese medicine. It is due to damp heat invading the skin, causing nutritional imbalance, loose pores, blocked blood vessels, and unfavorable production of essence and blood, which leads to loose hair roots and cause hair loss. The syndrome differentiation is: damp heat in the spleen and stomach (usually fond of eating sweet and fatty food, oily hair, greasy scales, itchy hair, and hair loss); blood deficiency and wind dryness (dry hair, sparse and falling hair, overlapping scales, and itchy scalp). The occurrence of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is mainly related to genetic factors and androgens. The development of this disease is often accompanied by normal levels of androgens, and genetic predisposition can increase the sensitivity of hair follicles to androgens. Human hair follicles are target organs that are sensitive to androgens. Their growth is cyclical and usually goes through three stages: growth phase, regression phase, and resting phase. The androgen secreted by the human body is mainly testosterone. Testosterone is converted into dihydrotestosterone under the action of 5α-reductase, and then binds to the androgen receptors in the target cells of the hair follicles in the scalp, inhibiting the growth and development of the hair papilla, interfering with the growth and metabolism of the hair follicle cells, causing the hair to enter the resting phase prematurely, thereby causing AGA. AGA mainly occurs in males, and its prevalence increases with age. If hair loss is not treated in time, when the disease progresses to a certain extent, the hair may fall out permanently. Finasteride can block the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone and block the binding of androgens to androgen receptors, preventing the atrophy of hair follicles on the forehead and top of the scalp and reversing the process of hair loss; minoxidil can inhibit hair loss and promote hair regeneration, preventing the progression of hair loss. Therefore, at present, male AGA is usually treated with a combination of oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. After 6 months or more of treatment, most patients can see cessation of hair loss or regrowth of hair. |
