Be careful about the side effects of canthoplasty

my country's current cosmetic surgery technology is very advanced. Many people hope to change their appearance through cosmetic surgery. Canthoplasty technology is very popular among those who love beauty because it can improve the shape of the eyes and make the eyes bigger. However, canthoplasty may also cause sequelae. People who love beauty should be cautious about canthoplasty surgery.

Removal of the epicanthus/external canthus is also called canthoplasty. It is generally used for eyes with small palpebral fissures and epicanthus. Most people who undergo inner canthus opening undergo this procedure. It is also called inner canthoplasty, which can remove the excess upper eyelid tissue through delicate cosmetic surgical incisions. Canthoplasty will not leave obvious surgical scars. Use the method of epicanthoplasty, which is to open the corners of the eyes.

Contraindications:

1. People with severe scarring are contraindicated for canthoplasty, or those with abnormal coagulation mechanism should inform the doctor in advance.

2. During pregnancy or menstruation, due to medication and coagulation disorders, so as not to affect the fetus or cause bleeding during canthoplasty surgery. It is also one of the contraindications for canthoplasty.

3. Those who are allergic to local anesthetics or are resistant to anesthetics

4. Children under the age of 13 are contraindicated for canthoplasty and cannot undergo the surgery.

Failure symptoms:

Eye plastic surgery experts say that the symptoms of failed canthoplasty include the following:

1. The curvature and width of one-third of the inner corners of the eyes on both sides are not ideal.

2. Obvious scars left after the operation cannot be removed.

3. The tissues of the upper and lower eyelids are too thick, and this area was not thinned during the surgery.

4. Ptosis of upper eyelid, ectropion, etc.

5. Eyes cannot be closed completely.

The above four situations are the symptoms of failed inner canthus opening. There are also mild complications such as redness, swelling and bruising of the wound after the operation. These can be effectively avoided as long as timely care is done after the operation. Don’t worry too much after the operation fails. Communicate in detail with your attending physician. Timely repair can effectively make up for it.
