Is freezing rosacea effective?

Is freezing rosacea effective?

There are many ways to treat rosacea. Many people are troubled by rosacea because it is not a serious disease, but it is not easy to treat. Some people even regard it as a blessing. This is a wrong idea. Rosacea is a disease in itself. Rosacea has a great impact on people. If rosacea is not treated well, it is easy to cause hypertrophy of the nose. So is cryotherapy good for rosacea?

The cryotherapy method for rosacea uses low-temperature technology to act on the skin of rosacea, which then causes ice crystals to form inside and outside the tissue, causing the cells to dehydrate and shrink, and the skin tissue to necrotize, undergoing a process of whitening, scabbing, shedding and restoring color, thereby achieving the purpose of treatment. Cryotherapy is suitable for rosacea with milder symptoms. Since rosacea occurs in the epidermis and superficial dermis, patients with middle and late stage rosacea can be treated with combined skin grinding and cutting to improve the efficacy.

The freezing method is to place a refrigerant in a suitable container and spray it onto the affected area of rosacea. Since the refrigerant will cause a certain degree of damage to the skin, it will produce certain side effects.

① Pain: There will be local pain within 1 to 2 days of cryotherapy, especially within 1 to 2 hours.

② Edema: Local redness and swelling begin to appear after the skin lesions are thawed, often reaching a peak within 24 hours of thawing, and usually begins to gradually subside within 3 to 4 days. For patients with rosacea who have obvious edema, they can apply topical corticosteroid cream 2 to 3 times a day as prescribed by the doctor.

③ Blisters: If the freezing time is long, rosacea patients may develop local blisters or bullae 2 to 3 hours after the operation. At this time, they should seek medical treatment immediately.

④ Infection: Infection caused by cryotherapy is relatively rare. It is mostly caused by the rupture of blisters formed after surgery and lack of attention to cleanliness and hygiene, leading to secondary infection. Once infected, go to the hospital for treatment immediately.

Cryotherapy for rosacea is also a good treatment method. If you choose to use freezing therapy for rosacea, you must make a timely decision based on your symptoms. If freezing is not possible, it is best not to use freezing therapy. When you have rosacea, you must have a reasonable diet and reduce the amount of irritating and spicy foods, as such foods will aggravate rosacea.
