How to take care of your skin?

Many people only know how to take care of their facial skin, but ignore the care of their body skin. This is wrong. We must take good care of the skin all over our body so that we will not be troubled by problems in this area. So how do we take care of our body skin? First of all, you should figure out what problems you have with your skin, and then prescribe the right medicine. Next, let us learn how to care for your skin.

1. ABC of skin characteristics

The skin is the largest organ in the human body, with a total weight of approximately 16% of body weight and an adult's skin surface area of approximately 1.5 square meters. The skin is composed of three parts: epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue. The thickness of the skin varies according to age and location. Excluding subcutaneous tissue, it is approximately between 0.5 and 4 mm. The skin of the eyelids, vulva, breasts, and face is thinner, while the skin of the palms and soles is the thickest.

The epidermis is mainly composed of keratinocytes and dendritic cells, and is divided into five layers from the outside to the inside. The outermost layer of keratinocytes is completely keratinized, dehydrated and dry, and has a protective function, which is called the stratum corneum. The deepest layer of cells is columnar and connected to the dermis. It is called the basal layer. It can produce new keratinocytes, causing the cells to continuously move upward and eventually fall off. This cycle is about 28 days. There are melanocytes between the basal layers, and melanin can protect the deeper tissues from damage caused by ultraviolet rays. Below the epidermis is the dermis and subcutaneous tissue, which contain fibers, cells, connective tissue, adipose tissue, blood vessels, nerves, skin appendages, etc., which provide nutrition for the epidermis. It makes the skin have a certain toughness and elasticity, and can moisturize and buffer pressure.

Because the skin has these characteristics, it has the functions of protection, absorption of nutrients, regulation of body temperature, secretion and excretion, sensation, beauty, metabolism and immune system.

2. How to take care of your skin

Skin is an organ of the human body and a part of the human body. To maintain good skin, we must first pay attention to the maintenance of overall health:

(1) Maintaining a cheerful spirit and a bright mind plays a very important role in preventing skin aging and enabling people to achieve harmony and unity in their internal and external living environments.

(2) Take in adequate and necessary nutrients, have a diversified diet, avoid picky eating, and eat more foods rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals.

(3) You should get enough sleep. The skin renews and breathes mainly between 10 pm and 2 am, so it is important to avoid staying up late for skin health.

(4) Exercise regularly to improve your physical fitness.

Secondly, pay attention to the maintenance of local skin health:

① Skin hygiene: Use cleansing cream or facial cleanser to remove facial dirt. Apply facial cleanser to the forehead, nose bridge, cheeks, jaw and neck. Use your fingertips to massage upwards in circles on various parts of the face to dissolve facial oil. Then use warm water (water temperature below 35°C) to rinse the face and neck from outside to inside and from bottom to top, usually 1-2 times a day.

As for cleaning the skin all over the body, it varies according to the location and season. Usually 1-2 times a week is enough. It is best to use soft water for cleaning. Apply moisturizer after bathing to keep the skin moisturized.

Oily skin has strong sebum secretion and large pores, and is prone to acne, but it has a strong tolerance to stimulation. It should be washed with warm water at least twice a day, and then astringent lotion and topical creams such as cold cream should be used. Dry skin is dry, has less sebum, is fair, easily wrinkled, and is not resistant to irritation. Wash your face with warm water 1-2 times a day, do not use soap, and generally use oils to protect the skin. Neutral skin is between the above two types and generally uses emulsions for skin care. Sensitive skin: thin skin, dilated capillaries on cheeks, lack of luster, and prone to allergies. This type of skin should be cleaned with soft water, avoid excessive scrubbing with a towel, avoid using fragrances, and use children's skin care products.

How to care for your skin? The above is a detailed answer to this question. Many people think that maintaining the skin on the body is troublesome, and it is the facial skin that is shown to others, so there is no need to maintain the skin on the body. This understanding has certain misunderstandings. Now many people do not pay attention to maintaining the skin on their bodies and eventually develop skin diseases. Therefore, we must attach great importance to it.
