With the development of medical technology, many cosmetic and medical beauty projects have gradually come into our view. More and more women have the idea of undergoing plastic surgery in order to improve their appearance and enhance their confidence in their appearance. Common cosmetic surgery procedures on the market include rhinoplasty, double eyelid surgery, and apple cheek augmentation. So, before undergoing rhinoplasty, it is better to understand the precautions before and after the operation. Rhinoplasty refers to a surgery that improves the appearance of the nose by filling the nose with autologous tissue, foreign tissue or tissue substitutes to raise the external nose. There are two types of incisions for rhinoplasty surgery: columella incision and endonasal incision. Intranasal incision (close to the columella) is commonly used because the incision is concealed and no trace can be seen on the outside. 1. What are the methods of rhinoplasty? 1. Injection rhinoplasty The most commonly used materials for injectable rhinoplasty now are Artefill, hyaluronic acid, autologous collagen, autologous fat, etc. Injectable rhinoplasty is fast-acting and minimally invasive. 2. Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene rhinoplasty In recent years, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (EPPE) has been widely used for rhinoplasty. From a medical point of view, expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (EPPE) is currently the most ideal substitute for biological tissue. It was previously mainly used for vascular reconstruction during human organ transplantation. Expanded materials are most compatible with the human body, are non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, non-allergenic, and do not need to be replaced throughout life. 3. Silicone prosthesis rhinoplasty Silicone prosthetic rhinoplasty was the most commonly used method in the past few years. Silicone rubber is a safe and effective implant material. Laboratory and clinical experiments have proven that it has good compatibility with human tissues, is non-toxic and harmless, has strong plasticity, and is non-carcinogenic. In case of any problems, it can be completely removed for repair or replacement. Even if it is not used, it can restore the nose shape to its original state without causing the skin on the nasal dorsum to become loose. However, only experienced doctors can avoid the many complications caused by repeated surgeries. 2. Precautions before rhinoplasty ⒈Be mentally prepared. Choose a trustworthy medical institution or doctor for surgery, so that you will have confidence and a sense of security about the surgery, eliminate fear, remain calm, and actively cooperate with the doctor to realize your beautiful wishes. Do not seek medical advice blindly to avoid adverse consequences; ⒉ Understand the factors that affect the price of rhinoplasty and choose the best plan according to your financial ability; ⒊ Fully understand the common knowledge about rhinoplasty, read relevant books, and preferably visit people who have undergone the operation to familiarize yourself with the entire process of the operation; ⒋ There should not be any (bacterial) lesions on the face before surgery: such as folliculitis, furuncle, acne, acute eye inflammation, sinusitis, rhinitis, nasal vestibule furuncle, etc.; 5. To prevent infection, women cannot undergo surgery during menstruation; 6. It is best to take a shower the day before the operation. On the day of the operation, you should use soap to wash away the dirt and grease on your face before going to the operating table to minimize the number of bacteria. You should also trim your nose hair and clean your nasal cavity before the operation. ⒎Do not take medications containing aspirin within two weeks before surgery, as aspirin can reduce the function of platelet coagulation; ⒏ Patients with hypertension and diabetes should inform their doctors of their conditions during the initial visit so that the attending doctor can confirm the surgical plan; ⒐ Before the operation, make sure the patient is in good health and has no infectious diseases or other body inflammation; ⒑Do not wear makeup before surgery; 3. Precautions after rhinoplasty ⒈ Using ice packs for local cold compresses in the early postoperative period can reduce postoperative swelling, etc. Starting from the 5th day after surgery, local hot compresses should be applied to promote recovery. ⒉ Rest: Patients who undergo simple rhinoplasty do not need to be hospitalized and should rest at home after the operation. ⒊ Within one week after the operation, the prosthesis has not yet been surrounded by the fibrous membrane and is in an unstable stage, so you must be extra careful and do not touch, squeeze or hit the local area. ⒋ If you feel long-term discomfort after surgery, you should go to the hospital and contact the doctor in time. 5. Drugs such as aspirin can inhibit normal coagulation function. Taking such drugs may cause continued bleeding after surgery. Therefore, it is best not to take such drugs 2-3 weeks before rhinoplasty surgery. ⒍Some diseases require taking Chinese medicine or steroid drugs. For people with these diseases and diabetes, wound healing may take longer. ⒎ Although menstruation does not have much impact on the operation, there may be heavy bleeding during or after the operation, and the swelling may be more severe. Therefore, it is best to avoid menstruation during rhinoplasty. ⒏ Generally, men bleed more than women during rhinoplasty, and it takes longer for the swelling to subside. The length of the recovery period varies depending on the method of rhinoplasty. Therefore, you should choose a suitable surgical method based on your spare time and physical condition. It is best not to eat 3-4 hours before rhinoplasty, try to keep an empty stomach, and do not wear any jewelry. ⒐ About 2-4 weeks after rhinoplasty surgery, you are prohibited from wearing glasses and must insist on applying cold compresses to your face. You must keep your head up for about 5 days. Even when lying down, you must use 2-3 quilts to raise your head or back. This will help reduce swelling as soon as possible. ⒑Medications should be taken as prescribed, but aspirin or cold medicines containing aspirin may cause bleeding and should not be taken. Before the swelling completely subsides, your nose may appear somewhat crooked or you may feel that your nose is gathered together. These are all normal phenomena and there is no need to worry. If your nose bleeds, just wipe it off gently. If nasal scabs form in your nose, it is best not to pick them off forcibly or touch them frequently with your hands. Contraindications of Rhinoplasty ⒈ Those who are in the developmental stage and are under 18 years old. ⒉ Infection on the face or body (such as boils or folliculitis). ⒊ The nose has abundant sebaceous glands or has rosacea. ⒋ People with allergies. 5. Those who are mentally unstable or have doubts about the filling materials. |
