This cucumber facial is the least likely to replenish water

With the arrival of autumn, the weather becomes drier. People who love beauty can't wait to hydrate their skin, but some wrong practices will make the hydration effect go in the opposite direction. In fact, applying cucumber slices on your face will not hydrate your skin!

Myth 1: Applying a jelly mask while taking a bath

A steamy bathroom will allow the ingredients in the mask to be absorbed quickly. However, it is not recommended to use jelly-type or peel-off masks to moisturize your skin when taking a bath, because not only will they not allow moisture to be absorbed by the skin, but they will make your skin drier. It is recommended to use a cream mask when taking a bath.

Myth 2: Applying cucumber slices on the face

Cucumbers contain a lot of water and are considered by many people to be a good hydrating product, but it is actually not advisable to use them directly on your face. A dew-like sticky substance will form on the surface of freshly cut cucumber slices, which will cause the skin to become tight and make it more dry and wrinkled. The correct way is to apply cucumber juice: before going to bed, take fresh cucumber juice, add milk and honey, mix well, apply on your face for about 20 minutes and then wash it off.

Myth 3: Keep skin care products in the refrigerator

In order to hydrate and moisturize while giving the skin a cooler feeling, many people put their skin care products in the refrigerator. The best storage temperature for skin care products is between 5℃ and 25℃. However, if it is still stored at room temperature after being chilled, the heat exchange will produce esterification, and the hydrating effect will be greatly reduced.

Myth 4: Wearing the mask for too long

Many people apply moisturizing facial masks and are reluctant to wash them off for half an hour for fear of wasting the nutrients. However, if the mask is applied for too long, the skin will not only fail to absorb the nutrients in the mask, but the nutrients in the mask will evaporate and take away the skin's original moisture. When applying a hydrating mask, you should follow the product's recommended usage time, which is generally 10-15 minutes. After application, you should immediately apply lotion to lock in moisture. Applying a cream mask on your face for too long can also suffocate your skin and cause acne.
