How to remove scars on face

Although the appearance of scars will not affect our physical health, they will affect our appearance. Some female friends are very concerned about the scars on their bodies, which causes serious psychological pressure. Of course, scars on the body can be concealed by wearing clothes, but if scars appear on our face, the damage caused will be serious, so we must know how to remove scars.

What we need to do most is to prevent scars on the face, because as long as we treat the wound well, scars on the face will not appear. However, if scars on the face appear, we also have ways to eliminate them.

Simple excision and suture method: Simple excision and suture method is suitable for small and medium-sized facial scars of the third type. After the skin scar is removed, the wound is carefully closed with a small needle and fine thread, preferably along the skin grain, leaving only a thin scar line after the operation. Sometimes, for people with larger scars and tight skin, fractional scar excision can be used. However, the first and second operations are usually separated by more than half a year.

Facial scar excision and skin grafting: Scars of larger areas cannot be sutured directly after scar excision because these patients do not have much normal skin on their faces. At this time, you can fill in a whole piece of skin in a natural facial area according to the natural shape of the face (forehead, upper and lower eyelids, nose, upper and lower lips and mandible), and decide how many parts of skin to transplant based on the amount of scar removed. There is another method suitable for patients with facial scars covering the entire face, that is, the entire facial scar can be removed at one time; and a whole piece of skin can be transplanted. This can avoid the formation of scars at the connection points during partitioned skin grafting, and the postoperative appearance is better than that of partitioned skin grafting. The best skin grafts to use are full-thickness skin grafts or skin grafts with subdermal vascular networks, because after these two types of skin grafts survive as free transplants, the color of the face will not be too dark, and the cosmetic effect will be better.

Using the skin flap method to repair scars: Since the skin flap contains more subcutaneous fat tissue, in addition to being used to repair skin defects after facial scar excision, it also has the function of protecting deep tissues. Skin flap transplantation is also a commonly used method for scar repair near some facial organs. For example, defects such as nasal wing defects, ectropion deformity, and corner of mouth deformity all require cosmetic surgery based on skin flap transplantation. After skin flap transplantation, its color is closer to facial skin, and it can also be used to fill and repair some facial tissue defects. In addition, skin flap has better blood supply and higher survival rate than free skin grafting. Therefore, it is also a commonly used method in facial scar plastic surgery.

Non-surgical treatment of facial scars: For some hypertrophic scars that do not affect facial function, surgical excision is sometimes not necessary, because even after excision, it is very easy to relapse and form new hypertrophic scars. In order to soften and flatten scars, the following methods can be used for cosmetic treatment.

Compression therapy People have gradually applied the method of compression to scar hyperplasia after burns, and the effect is positive. Generally, after facial scar removal, the surgical incision needs to be pressurized for 6 months to 1 year. In this way, scar hyperplasia can be effectively prevented.

Practice has shown that drug therapy can flatten hypertrophic scars and restore their color to or close to the color of normal facial skin by injecting hormone suspensions such as prednisolone acetate and triamcinolone acetate into the hypertrophic scar areas on the face. But sometimes it takes several injections to achieve the desired effect.

Radiation therapy should be performed for small areas of facial hypertrophic scars or hypertrophic scars after surgical excision and skin grafting. Generally, 4-6 times can achieve good results.

Above we introduced the impact of scars on us. Although scars will not harm our bodies, they will affect our image, so we have to find ways to remove scars. We must be very cautious when removing scars on our faces because the skin on our faces is very sensitive. The above article introduces in detail how to remove scars on the face.
