8 natural ways to get rid of dark circles

Overwork, staying up late, etc., make many people suffer from dark circles under their eyes. Over time, the dark circles become deeper and deeper, and no matter how expensive the eye cream is, they just won’t go away. In fact, dark circles are also related to poor blood circulation, sun exposure, aging and other reasons. In response to these reasons, several dermatologists recommend some "natural" methods to help you get rid of panda eyes.

Get enough sleep

Adequate sleep is the most basic and most important measure to prevent and treat dark circles.

Lack of sleep is the number one cause of dark circles under the eyes. You should try to go to bed early at night and turn off all electronic devices half an hour before going to bed, including mobile phones, televisions, computers, etc., relax your body and prepare for sleep.

Wear sunglasses

The ultraviolet rays in the sun can destroy the collagen in the eye capillaries, causing the capillaries to rupture easily. The released blood enters the subcutaneous tissue, making the skin dull and lifeless, and the external manifestation is dark circles.

Therefore, when going out on a sunny day, you must wear sunglasses with UV protection.

Massage eye sockets

Allergies are also a major cause of dark circles under the eyes. When your body comes into contact with allergens, it may induce various inflammations, dark circles being one of them.

Regularly and gently massage the eye sockets, cheeks, head and neck to promote lymphatic circulation around the eyes, help eliminate inflammation and lighten dark circles.

Low-sugar diet

Dark circles are, to some extent, a sign of skin inflammation. A diet rich in antioxidants and low in sugar can fight inflammation in all parts of the body, including the skin.

Therefore, experts recommend reducing the intake of sugar in the diet, avoiding alcoholic beverages, and eating more berries, beans, sprouts, and green leafy vegetables.

Tea bag eye compress

Soak two black tea bags in warm water for a while, then take them out, squeeze out the water, apply them to the eye sockets, lie down, close your eyes and relax for a while. The tannins contained in black tea have the effect of constricting blood vessels and can effectively relieve dark circles.

You can also use green tea bags. Put the soaked green tea bags in the refrigerator and freeze them for a while, then take them out and apply them to your eyes. The frozen tea bags can reduce swelling, and green tea is rich in the powerful antioxidant ECGC, which helps repair damaged cells after being absorbed by the skin.

Apply milk mask

Milk is rich in milk fat and lactic acid, and is the best "natural medicine" to fight dark circles. Applying milk on the face can whiten and moisturize the skin. The method is very simple. Soak a towel in milk, squeeze out excess water from the towel, apply it to your face or eyes for a few minutes, and then wash it off with clean water.

Mild heat

Hot compress helps promote blood circulation. Soak a soft cotton towel in warm water, wring it dry, and place it on the upper eyelid. Repeat 2-3 times. The water temperature should not be too hot because the skin of the eyelid is very thin. Overheating will cause the skin to become loose and wrinkled.

Acupressure

Dark circles are caused by poor blood circulation. Acupoint massage can help to open up blood vessels; apply eye massage cream or eye nourishing cream on the skin around the eyes. Use your ring finger to press Tongziliao (at the end of the eye), posterior eyeball (1/3 of the middle and outer part of the lower eye socket), Sibai (1/3 of the middle and inner part of the lower eye socket), Jingming (upper inner part of the inner canthus), Yuyao (center of the eyebrow), and Yingxiang (outer side of the nose). Press each acupoint for 3-5 seconds and then relax. Do this 10 times in a row.

Use your middle finger and ring finger (middle finger on the upper eyelid, ring finger on the lower eyelid) to gently pull and massage from the inner canthus to the outer canthus, for 10 consecutive times. Use the tips of your index, middle and ring fingers to lightly tap around your eyes, 3-5 times.
