What will happen if I get hyaluronic acid injection when I get older?

Hyaluronic acid is transparent in appearance and has a certain stickiness. It looks very much like collagen. Hyaluronic acid is not very harmful. However, if it is injected into the skin for a long time, it may not be absorbed or cause skin aging. Because the skin needs medication to maintain it for a long time, it will lose its own metabolic ability.

Is there any harm in injecting hyaluronic acid? How long can it last?

According to Meyer's research, the structure of hyaluronic acid is mainly composed of disaccharide, acetyl-D-glucosamine and glucuronic acid.

Acid, linked by β-1-3 bonds. Hyaluronic acid is widely present in nature in the connective tissue, mucous tissue, lens of the eye and capsule of some bacteria of vertebrates. Regardless of its source, hyaluronic acid has the same chemical composition and structure. This biocompatibility and absorbability make hyaluronic acid an advantage as a medical polymer material in that it does not produce immune response and can be decomposed and absorbed by the body.

Since hyaluronic acid has a wide range of uses, many countries are competing to research and develop it, and large-scale mold production of hyaluronic acid is very necessary. Currently, there are two main methods for producing hyaluronic acid: one is to extract it from animal tissue; the other is microbial fermentation. Extracting hyaluronic acid from the cytoplasm of connective tissue of humans and animals is difficult to achieve large-scale production due to limited raw materials. In addition, due to its low content and complicated separation process, hyaluronic acid is expensive, reaching $5,000 per kilogram, which limits its large-scale use in cosmetics. In order to improve the output and quality of hyaluronic acid and reduce production costs, the use of microbial fermentation is a feasible way. Making full use of China's existing resources - corn starch as raw material and producing hyaluronic acid by fermentation has greatly reduced the production cost of hyaluronic acid, and at the same time opened up a new path for the industrialization of China's corn deep processing.

General hyaluronic acid stock skin care products provide a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid and need to be used with toner or essence. When the skin is dry, if hyaluronic acid is used alone, it will not have a direct moisturizing effect. In fact, hyaluronic acid may absorb a large amount of moisture from the skin, which may make the skin drier after use.

So the correct way to use it is: after washing your face in the morning and evening, just apply the mixed hyaluronic acid product on your face, and then apply a moisturizing cream to lock in moisture. This will be more effective.

Precautions

1) Precautions before injection:

Before treatment, please keep your skin clean and remove any makeup and skin care products. It is recommended to use cleanser and astringent to cleanse the skin. Use cool water to cleanse so that the pores are closed. Patients are strongly advised not to take anti-inflammatory drugs (such as aspirin) at least 3-4 days before treatment, as they may aggravate bleeding and swelling at the injection site.

2) Precautions after injection:

After the injection treatment, please keep your face relaxed and avoid making excessive facial expressions. Please avoid exposure to high heat environments (such as saunas, etc.) for at least two weeks after treatment, as this may cause the hyaluronic acid injected into the face to be quickly decomposed, thereby shortening the filling effect. Do not touch or massage the injection site.

3) Adverse reactions:

Inflammatory reactions may occur on the skin, usually accompanied by pain upon pressing, which may last for about a week. There may also be temporary swelling at the injection site. If any adverse reactions persist, please notify the injecting physician immediately.

4) Contraindications:

There is a high risk of swelling or bleeding if this product is injected in pregnant or lactating women, patients under the age of 18, people with locally inflamed or infected skin, or those taking anticoagulants. For example, taking aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It is recommended that doctors ask patients whether they are allergic to hyaluronic acid and their medical history before injection.
