What to do if acne scars are very deep

Acne scars are very familiar to many people. Generally, acne scars are caused by acne, which will appear spotty or uneven. Not only will it easily affect the beauty of the skin, but it will also easily lead to rough skin or enlarged pores. If the acne scars are very deep, you can pay more attention to care. You can use some masks to relieve acne scars, or supplement more vitamins to relieve them.

What to do if acne scars are very deep?

Acne marks and acne scars are a permanent pain in the hearts of many acne patients. Although the acne on the face has healed after a period of treatment, due to seeking medical treatment too late or the acne was too severe before, a lot of black and red marks of varying shades are left on the face where the acne had grown. In severe cases, there may even be bumpy scars that remind people of orange peels or holes on the surface of the moon. This is what we commonly call "acne scars."

Acne scars are formed due to infection, inflammation or external force. This is often because acne is not treated promptly and appropriately when it occurs. The inflammatory response of skin cells causes damage to the skin tissue, resulting in scars. Due to the variety of types of acne, there are also many forms of acne scars. The more severe the inflammatory reaction during an acne attack, the more severe the skin tissue is damaged. The deeper the inflamed area, the deeper the skin tissue is damaged, and the more severe the acne scars that may be left in the future will be.

Therefore, acne and acne scars are two major aspects that need to be taken into consideration when treating acne. A complete acne treatment plan must be a comprehensive medical treatment that combines dermatology and internal and external medicine. It includes promptly seeking out professional dermatologists when symptoms occur, doing early prevention work for acne scars that may form in the future, giving effective treatment to acne that is currently occurring, and doing surgical correction for acne scars that have already formed, in order to minimize the damage that acne does to the skin.

So what can be done to remove existing acne scars?

First, let’s take a look at the types of acne scars:

Acne scars can be mainly divided into two types: spots (i.e. acne marks) and scars (depressions or protrusions). The spots are divided into red and black spots.

The red spots are caused by inflammation of cells in the area where the acne originally occurred, which causes blood vessels to dilate. However, the blood vessels do not shrink immediately after the acne disappears, resulting in temporary, flat, red spots. It will get redder when the skin temperature rises or when you exercise. This redness is not considered a scar and will gradually fade within 4 to 6 months.

Black spots are caused by pigmentation after acne inflammation, which leaves a dark and dirty color in the places where red acne has appeared, making the skin dull. These black colors will actually disappear slowly over time. Impatient people have to apply some ointments that can remove melanin or undergo fruit acid peels or vitamin C introduction.

This type of spots and pigmentation will disappear naturally over time, so they are generally temporary false scars, not real scars. Of course, it takes a certain amount of time for the erythema and melanin deposits to disappear. Otherwise, if the blood vessels that should contract do not contract, the redness will not subside; and if the pigments that should be transported away by the cells are not transported away, the melanin will not disappear.

Generally speaking, this type of false scar will disappear automatically in about half a year, but due to different individual constitutions, it may take longer than the average for some people, for example, one or even two years. Those who can't wait have to resort to external applications such as depigmenting ointments such as topical A acid, azelaic acid, fruit acid or L-ascorbic C, or undergo fruit acid peels, dye lasers, pulsed light therapy, and vitamin C infusions to accelerate the disappearance of spots.

True scars are divided into two types: pitting scars and hypertrophic scars. Real scars will not disappear automatically and need to be treated by a dermatologist before they will disappear.
