Can vitiligo be cured?

Can vitiligo be cured?

Don’t blindly pursue fair skin. If there is too little melanin in the body, it may cause white spots. The most common white spot disease is vitiligo, which is a well-known disease that is difficult to cure. However, other diseases can also cause vitiligo. Some people's vitiligo is congenital, while some people's vitiligo is acquired. But can any kind of vitiligo be cured?

Leukoplakia can be congenital or acquired.

Congenital leukoplakia may be caused by various reasons during embryonic development. Generally, white patches appear on the skin at birth or shortly after birth, such as achromic nevus, anemic nevus, achromic incontinence pigmenti, etc. The distribution of these white spots is generally limited or has certain characteristics, and the color of the white spots will not be very white. As the skin grows and develops, these white spots will neither fade nor expand significantly after stabilizing.

There are many causes of acquired vitiligo. Since the skin is in direct contact with the external environment, the appearance of white spots on the skin may be caused by both internal reasons and external environmental factors, such as sun exposure, chemicals, fungal infections, etc. There are many skin diseases that can cause skin hypopigmentation or depigmentation. Some inflammatory skin diseases can cause white spots on local parts of the skin. These white spots usually occur before other inflammatory skin diseases, such as eczema and psoriasis, which destroy the melanocytes in the basal layer of the skin and cause skin depigmentation.

Self-regulation and protection of vitiligo

1. After discovering vitiligo, go to the hospital for examination and diagnosis as soon as possible and strive for early treatment. The treatment effect of vitiligo with a short course of disease and small area is relatively good, and many patients can be completely cured.

2. Live a regular life and avoid being in a state of tension and anxiety.

3. Increase sun exposure appropriately, but avoid excessive exposure to prevent sunburn.

4. Avoid skin trauma to prevent isomorphic reactions.

5. Do not use highly irritating cosmetics and topical medications.

6. It is best to use comprehensive treatment methods such as photochemotherapy, combination of Chinese and Western medicine, diet, and psychotherapy.

7. One very important point is that patients should actively cooperate with doctors, persevere and adhere to treatment.
