Tips to reduce chapped lips

Our lips have always been more vulnerable to injury, such as dryness, peeling and so on. Reason: The skin of the lips is thin and delicate, and the thickness of the tissue structure layer is only 1/3 of that of the body skin. There are two reasons for dry lips: one is lack of vitamins and the other is lack of water. Since the skin has few sebaceous glands and is particularly sensitive to the increasingly dry and low-temperature environment, it is normal for the skin to become dry and dehydrated. At this time, moisturizing becomes particularly important.

Solution: In the winter when lips tend to become dry and dehydrated, carry with you a lip balm that contains moisturizing ingredients such as vitamin E and has a high degree of moisturizing. In addition, if the corners of the mouth start to crack and there is white secretion in the corners of the mouth, the reasons are: 1. Nutritional deficiencies, especially riboflavin, iron, and protein deficiencies; 2. Mechanical factors: such as tooth loss or improper positioning of dentures, causing the upper lip to be pressed against the lower lip, and wrinkles at the corners of the mouth causing the mucous membrane there to be often immersed; 3. Infectious factors: such as Candida infection. Attention should be paid to finding the cause of the disease and treating it accordingly. Eat more vegetables and fruits, avoid picky eating, and take appropriate vitamin supplements.


Peeling


Reason: The lip skin has poor resistance and will generally peel when it is severely dehydrated. Because the evaporation of moisture from the lips can easily cause contraction of the deep connective tissue and wrinkling of the lip mucosa, which will make the lips drier. In addition, the bad habit of licking lips will aggravate the peeling and cracking of the lips.

Solution: Apply a hot towel to your lips for 2-3 minutes, then gently remove the dead skin on your lips, and then apply lip balm. You can also apply lip balm on your lips before going to bed to soothe chapped lips. After drinking water and eating, wipe your lips clean and apply lip balm. When your lips are peeling, do not tear the skin with your hands to avoid bleeding. Usually, be careful not to lick your lips with your tongue.


Pale lip color


Reason: Exposing lips can easily lead to dull lip color. People who often wear makeup should be more careful, because incomplete makeup removal will aggravate the dullness of lip color, and in severe cases may cause lipstick disease.

Solution: Lip care must first be done with lip oil, preferably one that is colorless, odorless and free of additives. You can also choose a moisturizing gel lip balm, which not only locks in moisture, but also intensively hydrates and reduces pigmentation.

Cause: Drinking too hot water or eating too hot food can easily cause burns to the mucous membrane, causing the lips to age easily, making the lips more prone to dead skin, and in severe cases causing ulcers. In addition, eating spicy food can also irritate the lip mucosa.

Solution: Daily diet should be light and reduce the intake of fried and spicy foods. Especially in winter, when the weather is cold, many people like to eat spicy hot pot, which not only easily causes discomfort to the lips, but also leads to inflammation of the respiratory and digestive tracts. In addition, when eating, especially drinking soup, tea, etc., they should be kept warm before drinking, so as not to burn the lips, mouth, or digestive tract. Finally, eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more water, and supplement vitamins on a daily basis.
