8 ways to calm and relieve pain from sunburn in hot summer

In the hot summer, the biggest fear when going out for fun is turning into a "red girl" or a "black girl". Skin exposed to the sun will develop erythema, edema and peeling, which is not only extremely painful but also rapidly reduces one's mood for fun. What should you do if your skin is sunburned? Solar dermatitis is an acute phototoxic reaction of the skin caused by excessive exposure to sunlight. Solar dermatitis often occurs in hot summer. Traditional Chinese medicine calls it "sun sores" based on the characteristic of skin blisters after sun exposure. Western medicine divides sunburn into polymorphic solar dermatitis based on its pathogenesis and clinical manifestations.

1. Cold compress care

Cold compresses can help neutralize sunburn. To apply a cold compress, you can put a towel or piece of clothing in cold water or in the refrigerator, take it out and wring it slightly (just make sure there is no water dripping), and then apply it to the skin. As the water gradually evaporates, it has a cooling effect, which helps control sunburn and pain.

Apply 3-4 times a day, each time for about half an hour. You can also soak gauze with saturated saline or water, place it in the refrigerator until it cools, apply it to the stinging area, and remove it after about 20 minutes. This can eliminate the burning sensation and help reduce skin redness and swelling.

2. Apply cucumber juice

Apply cucumber juice on the painful skin for 10 minutes. The coolness will penetrate into the skin and the pain will naturally subside.

Cucumber juice is rich in water and the vitamin C it contains can enhance the skin's regeneration ability. It can not only replenish the moisture lost by the skin, but also treat peeling. Rinse your body with water after application.

3. Hot compress with tea

Dip a cotton ball in the tea and gently pat the sunburned area. This will nourish the skin and relieve the burning sensation. Because tea contains tannic acid, it has a good astringent effect, can reduce tissue swelling, and reduce cell exudation. It is very effective for skin that is slightly sunburned but not flaky.

If the sunburned area is too large, you can also add strong tea to a wash basin and soak the sunburned skin in the water for a few minutes. The effect will be more significant.

4. Lotion care

Applying 1% hydrocortisone lotion to the sunburned area may also help.

Apply to the painful area 3-4 times a day. Do not wash it off immediately. Leave it on the skin for 5-6 hours. It is better to apply cold compress when applying for the first time.

5. Apply aloe vera juice

Apply the gel-like juice in aloe vera to the sunburned skin and let the juice dry naturally. In addition to helping injured skin heal faster, aloe vera can also immediately reduce heat and provide cooling effect when the skin is burning and painful due to sunburn.

6. Carry a moisturizing spray with you

The skin loses a lot of moisture after sun exposure. Keeping the skin hydrated at all times is the primary condition for whole body whitening. At this time, it is best to use a moisturizing spray or toner, which has a small molecular weight and can penetrate directly into the subcutaneous tissue. Frequent spraying on the face can both calm the skin and moisturize it.

7. Use a whitening mask

In order to get rid of pigmentation after sun exposure and whiten your skin in a short period of time, you need to use both daily care and enhanced care. You may want to use a facial mask with whitening effect every day to strengthen the protection of your skin. Using medical shock therapy, a large amount of whitening nutrients in the mask can penetrate deep into the skin, allowing the skin to be significantly improved in a short period of time, restoring its moisture and whiteness to achieve an ideal skin color.

8. Milk jelly compress

Make cold milk by mixing equal parts milk, ice cubes, and water in a bowl. Soak a clean cloth in cold milk and apply the cloth to the sunburn for five minutes. Repeat three times.

The fat, protein and pH of milk have a soothing, anti-inflammatory effect on the skin. In addition, lower temperatures can constrict blood vessels and relieve edema symptoms.
