The efficacy and function of breast milk mask

I believe everyone knows that breast milk is a special food for babies and it is something they must eat every day, especially for babies under one year old. They all need to be fed with breast milk. In addition to breast milk for babies, breast milk can also be used to make facial masks. Facial masks made with breast milk can not only have a good effect on moisturizing the skin, but breast milk can also play other roles. Let's take a look at the introduction to breast milk below.

Can breast milk be used as a facial mask?

Breast milk can be used as a facial mask. You can buy some facial mask paper, dip it in milk and apply it on your face. The mother's breast milk for many months can also be used to make breast milk soap. I heard it is very good for babies. I have seen it in the news before.

Colostrum is the first food a newborn baby eats and it is also the best and most precious gift a mother can give to her baby.

After giving birth, the mother's hormone levels change and her breasts begin to secrete milk. However, there is a gradual change in the quality and quantity of lactation. Generally, the milk produced within 4-5 days after birth is called colostrum, the milk produced 6-10 days after birth is called transitional milk, the milk produced from 11 days to 9 months after birth is called mature milk, and the milk after 10 months is called late milk. Because colostrum contains a lot of salts such as calcium phosphate and calcium chloride, it has a mild laxative effect. Colostrum also has a higher calorie content than mature milk.

The World Health Organization recommends that infants be exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months of age, and that other foods be supplemented while continuing to breastfeed from 6 months to 2 years or longer.

It is best to wean your baby between 8 months and 1 year old. If your baby is fed with breast milk and given complementary foods at the same time, and he or she accepts the complementary foods well, weaning can be delayed. Of course, it is also possible to persist until natural weaning. However, if the baby is in poor health or is sick, especially if the baby has allergies or intestinal problems, it is recommended that the mother breastfeed until the baby is over 1 year old, which will help the baby's physical recovery.

Generally speaking, if the mother chooses to completely wean her baby at 8 months, she can gradually reduce the number of breastfeeding times and replace it with complementary foods starting from 6 months. In addition, you should also pay attention to the weaning season. It is best for mothers to choose spring and autumn. The temperature at this time is neither high nor low, which is more suitable for weaning the baby and the baby can adapt easily.

Breastfeeding time for working mothers: The latest maternity leave regulations in our country are 98 days, which means that many new mothers have to go to work during the breastfeeding period. For working mothers, it is best to breastfeed the baby until about 1 year old. Working mothers can express breast milk by hand or with a breast pump into sterilized bottles before going to work, and then store them in the refrigerator.

Breastfeeding Position

Before breastfeeding, the mother should wash her hands and nipples with warm water, dry them with a hot towel, gently massage the breasts, squeeze out the first few drops of milk, and then start breastfeeding. In the first few days after delivery, due to fatigue and physical weakness, you can feed your baby while lying in bed. In the future, you should generally adopt a sitting position, sitting on the head of the bed or on an armchair, with one or two soft cushions to support your back, try to relax your whole body, and breastfeed easily and happily. Hold the baby with one arm, pinch the upper part of the nipple with the index and middle fingers of the other hand, and press down slightly with the index finger. This will move the nipple slightly away from the baby's nose to avoid the breast blocking the child's nostrils. It can also prevent choking and spitting up of milk due to excessive milk and rapid sucking.

Feeding at fixed times

If the hospital has to breastfeed your child at a fixed time, then the baby should be brought to the mother for feeding at 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. This way, there will be enough feedings within 24 hours to stimulate milk secretion. In some hospitals, the feeding schedule for a hungry baby is: feeding every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night (i.e. 6:00, 9:00, 12:00 in the morning, 3:00, 6:00 in the afternoon, 10:00 in the evening, 2:00 in the morning). After returning home from the hospital, you can flexibly breastfeed according to your own needs; this will allow your breasts to adapt to frequent breastfeeding in a timely manner.
