Boric acid is an external preparation with antibacterial effects that can be used when the skin is acutely infected or when exudation is severe. Low concentration boric acid aqueous solution is harmless to the human body. Boric acid is a weak acid weaker than carbonic acid.

Boric acid is often used as a cold wet compress, which has anti-inflammatory, detumescent, antibacterial, astringent and wound cleaning effects. It is suitable for acute dermatitis and eczema with redness, swelling or erosion accompanied by secondary infection and excessive exudation.

If used for large-area skin damage, acute poisoning may occur after absorption, with symptoms including vomiting, diarrhea, rash, central nervous system excitement followed by inhibition, meningeal irritation, kidney damage, circulatory failure, shock, and a lethal dose of 15-20g for adults and 3-6g for children. Repeated use of this product may cause cumulative poisoning.

Boric acid powder should be dissolved into a concentration of 1.5% and then applied to the face for 15 minutes. Then go and apply ointment.

Use it continuously for half an hour. Repeat the above method 1-2 times daily.

Effect of acid powder on face

Boric acid powder does have the effect of reducing inflammation and redness and swelling, and can be used as a facial mask, but you need to pay attention to the ratio of boric acid powder and water, and the mask time should not be too long each time. It is best to wash your face after five minutes. In addition, if you find itching symptoms or other abnormal phenomena on your face after use, you need to stop immediately. If the symptoms are severe, you should go to the dermatology department for examination in time. However, those with allergic skin need to use it with caution. You can try it on a small area first, and then apply it on your face if there is no allergic reaction.

How to use boric acid powder

Boric acid is a white crystalline powder or colorless flakes with a slightly pearly luster. It is irritating and can be used as a chemical reagent and to produce insecticides for cockroaches and beetles. It is used as a hemostatic and preservative in medicine. Boric acid is not allowed to be used as a food additive, but it is common for people to add borax or boric acid to food as an insecticide and preservative. In the early years, there was also the problem of using boric acid as a food preservative and leavening agent. Because boric acid accumulates in the body and is excreted very slowly, it affects the action of digestive enzymes. Therefore, consuming 0.5g of boric acid daily can cause loss of appetite, hinder the absorption of nutrients, and lead to weight loss. Adults can become poisoned if they consume 1 to 3 grams, with the main symptoms being gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Some people may also have central nervous system and skin symptoms, including drowsiness, headache, muscle cramps, and rash.

Apply 3% boric acid water to your face with a towel or mask to reduce swelling and redness.

It is cheap and has no side effects. Boric acid water works better when refrigerated in the refrigerator. In addition, if your eyes are swollen when you wake up early, applying it to your eyes is very effective.
