Why are scars red?

Why are scars red?

Scars can cause great damage to people's skin. Although they are not fatal, they are extremely detrimental to the image. They can cause serious damage to the skin and have an adverse effect on people's overall image. There are many types of scars. Generally, scars are black or brown, and some are red. Let's take a look at why scars are red?

Scars will form after the wound heals. The scars will proliferate for three to six months and will show symptoms such as itching, wider scars, and local redness. During these three to six months, anti-scar treatment can be used according to the situation, such as applying anti-scar ointment externally. Anti-scar treatment needs to last for three to six months.

The scar is red because the proliferating granulation tissue mainly contains new capillaries, which are red so it appears red on the outside. Also, the proliferating process of granulation tissue is a chronic process so it takes a long time to repair. During this period, you should avoid eating hair-raising foods or foods with heavy pigments.

A wound heals quickly when it is first injured, but the faster it heals, the slower it recovers. The remaining dark scar will stay for one or two months, and then turn into a light-colored flat scar (it feels flat and looks white). This light scar will take one or two years to completely disappear. This process is related to the human body's phagocytes.

Maintenance measures:

Vitamin E can penetrate into the skin to play its moisturizing effect. At the same time, vitamin E can also maintain skin elasticity. But you may not be familiar with the scar removal effect of vitamin E. Poke a hole in the vitamin E capsule with a needle, take out the liquid inside and apply it on the scar and gently massage for 5-10 minutes, twice a day. You will see better results if you persist.

Rub the scar with the base of your palm, three times a day, each time for 5-10 minutes. This method is most effective for wounds that have just shed scabs, but is less effective for old scars.

The beauty effects of lavender are always magical, and the effect of lavender essential oil in reducing scars is also widely recognized. However, lavender essential oil is not very effective for new scars or scars that are more than 8 years old. It is more effective for scars that are one to two years old. In addition, you should always be extremely careful when using essential oils. When applying essential oils to scars, be sure not to affect the skin without scars.
