What does skin oxidation mean?

Oxidation is always around us, and the skin is no exception. We often hear questions about how the skin can resist oxidation. For example, a salesperson at a cosmetics counter will tell you how their products can repair skin oxidation. A beauty guru may tell you that sunscreen is not only for sun protection, but also a process to prevent skin oxidation. It seems that skin oxidation is a skin problem that cannot be underestimated. So what exactly does skin oxidation mean? Let’s follow the editor to take a look below.

There are many manifestations of skin oxidation, the main ones being dull complexion, uneven skin tone, dry skin, and obvious fine lines and spots. An antioxidant is any substance that can effectively inhibit the oxidation reaction of free radicals at low concentrations. Its mechanism of action can be to act directly on free radicals, or to indirectly consume substances that are prone to generating free radicals to prevent further reactions. While free radicals are inevitably produced, antioxidants that resist free radicals are also produced naturally to offset the oxidative effects of free radicals on human cells. The human body's antioxidant system is a complete and complex functional system comparable to the immune system. The stronger the body's antioxidant ability is, the healthier it is and the longer it lives.

Sun exposure to ultraviolet rays is the number one killer that causes skin oxidation. After ultraviolet rays UVA and UVB penetrate into the skin, they produce free radicals, destroy the collagen and elastic fibers of the skin, cause wrinkles, and make the skin turn yellow and black.

We complain about the worsening of radiation and polluted environment every day but we are powerless to do anything about it, because every day our skin is the first to come into contact with the surrounding environment, and thus it is the first to be contaminated by the environment. Today, the destruction of the ozone layer, the continuous loss of water and soil, the large-scale emission of automobile exhaust, the inescapable air-conditioned environment, the frequent use of computers and copiers - all of these tell us the fact that our skin is facing premature aging every day.

An irregular life is a killer lurking around you. You know it but are unwilling to make the effort to change it. An irregular lifestyle, including an unbalanced diet and irregular work and rest schedules, can both cause skin oxidation and promote the skin to enter the aging stage prematurely. Busy work during the day has already put the nerves and skin in a highly tense state. If you continue to work at night or engage in excessive nightlife, your skin will not get the proper rest, and the consequences are obvious. In addition, diet is also an important factor affecting the degree of skin aging. Unbalanced and unreasonable diet, alcoholism and smoking are not only not good for physical health, but also cannot provide enough nutrition for skin growth. In the long run, it will cause oxidation of various skin functions and even premature aging.

Excessive survival pressure once or twice is nothing, but over time, it will accelerate the oxidation process of the skin. Living in a fast-paced society, we often have to bear pressure from various aspects such as work, life, interpersonal relationships, family, etc. You can't see or touch them, and this invisible killer brings you not only physical and mental fatigue, but also a very important point - accelerated oxidation of the skin.

Limited water supply Living in a city with a dry climate is really frustrating, but there is no way around it. Water is an important guarantee for young skin, and dehydrated skin can easily be oxidized by dry air.
