Does the hair mask have to be heated?

In daily life, women pay great attention to hair care, even as much as face care. In addition to the necessary shampoo and conditioner, many women also use hair masks to care for their hair. In fact, hair masks do have a good hair care effect and can supplement nutrients for the hair. When we use hair masks in the barber shop, we heat them up. So, what about using them at home? Do hair masks have to be heated?

Does the hair mask need to be heated?

Hair masks are best applied with heat.

Generally speaking, hair masks are rich in nutrients and can greatly improve hair quality if used correctly. Heating can help hair absorb nutrients from the hair mask better, thereby repairing dryness, split ends, etc. Therefore, when we usually use hair mask at home, we can heat it ourselves with a heating cap, which can make the care effect better.

How to heat a hair mask

First of all, we can buy an electric heating cap ourselves, which has the same effect as the one sold in a barber shop. After washing your hair, dry it slightly and then apply the hair mask evenly on your hair, being careful not to let the hair mask touch your scalp. Then wrap your hair with a wet towel and put on a shower cap or a layer of plastic wrap to better lock in moisture and nutrients. Finally, put on the heating cap to heat it up. At the same time, it should be noted that the heating time should not be too long, 15 to 20 minutes is enough. Too long will easily cause the hair to dry out.

What happens if you don't heat the hair mask? Not heating the hair mask will not cause any damage to your hair, it just means that your hair may not fully absorb the nutrients of the hair mask. Because the hair cuticles may not fully open when not heated, resulting in incomplete absorption of nutrients, the effect of nourishing the hair is naturally not as good as heating. Therefore, if conditions permit, try to heat the hair mask. If not possible, you can choose a surface-heating hair mask.

What to do if there is no heating cap? If you don’t have a heating cap at home, you can use the hot air from a hair dryer to evenly heat the hair mask after putting on a shower cap. In addition, wrapping yourself in a hot towel will also have a good effect. Just note that when heating the hair mask, you must heat it evenly so that all parts of the head can absorb nutrients. This will effectively improve the hair quality and give you smooth hair.
