What is the correct procedure for applying sunscreen?

In the hot summer, the scorching sun is a big challenge for people who love beauty. Sunscreen is a kind of cosmetics that can effectively resist the stimulation of ultraviolet rays in the sun, which can prevent skin darkening and skin injury. However, there are some things to pay attention to when applying sunscreen. If you use inappropriate application methods, it may not be effective. Here are the correct steps for applying sunscreen.

1. Preparation

Have a set of skin care products that suits you.

Wash face---apply toner---apply moisturizing lotion (or lotion or day cream)---apply BB cream.

This is the most basic step. Some people also add base liquid (for better absorption) and eye cream, and finally BB cream.

People with dry skin or in winter, you don’t need to use facial cleanser in the morning. Add some salt and vinegar to warm water, melt and stir, which can also help cleanse the skin.

2. Apply the first step

Pick up the BB cream with your right hand, squeeze a mung bean-sized amount on the middle finger and index finger of your left hand, then use your right middle and index fingers to apply a little, and lightly tap on five places on your cheeks, forehead, chin, and nose. One-handed is also OK.

3. Application process

Stretch out the five fingers of both hands, and tap the five points lightly with your fingertips in turn, then tap the surrounding skin, and slowly and evenly spread it. If there is still excess on your hands, tap the back of your hands or your neck.

Here I always use patting instead of applying, because BB cream has powdery particles, different from lotion, you can apply it directly, otherwise a light application will cause uneven skin tone, and a heavy application will clog pores

4. Subsequent cleaning

Be sure to clean before going to bed, repeat the morning work, and be sure to use facial cleanser here.

Applying BB cream without following basic skin care steps will only backfire.

Similarly, if BB cream is not cleaned properly after use, it will be a torture to the skin, preventing it from breathing and relaxing better.

Sunscreen Myths Revealed

Misconception 1: When talking about sun protection, many people think it means sunbathing, and that sun protection means protecting against the sun. In fact, there are many places in life that require sun protection, such as working in front of a computer for a long time and using a mobile phone frequently, which require certain protective measures for the facial skin.

Myth 2: Sunscreen is only necessary when the sun is strong. This is equating ultraviolet rays with sunlight. In fact, ultraviolet rays in sunlight still exist even in mist, cloudy and cloudy weather, so we should always pay attention to sun protection.

Myth 3: There is no need to use sunscreen in seasons other than summer. Even in seasons other than summer, ultraviolet rays can rob the skin of moisture and damage skin tissue, so sun protection is a task that should be done all year round.

Myth 4: The higher the SPF of sunscreen products, the better the sun protection effect. This is wrong. Sunscreen products with too high an SPF can easily clog pores, hinder perspiration, and cause excessive burden on the skin, so you will feel uncomfortable after applying it, and it is not suitable for daily use. The correct approach is to choose products with different sun protection factors in different occasions and according to different requirements.

Myth 5: UVA protection is enough. In fact, not only melanin in ultraviolet rays is the culprit of skin tanning and sunburn, but UVB is also a "killer" that cannot be ignored. It can cause skin allergies and spots. Therefore, choosing a sunscreen that can protect against both UVA and UVB is the best sunscreen product.

Myth 6: Applying once a day is enough. This needs to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Because general sunscreen products are sweat-proof for 30 minutes and waterproof for 80 minutes. If you stay in the sun for a long time, you should apply it every hour.

Myth 7: Sun protection is something only older people do. In fact, young skin is more susceptible to UV damage than old skin, but the accumulated damage only appears when you are older, such as spots and wrinkles. In fact, sun protection is an issue that must be paid attention to from early childhood.
