Any cosmetic surgery that requires surgery will leave scars on the human body. For example, rhinoplasty, a common cosmetic surgery, will also leave scars inside the nose. Since most Asians do not have very high noses, some people who want their noses to look better will choose to undergo rhinoplasty surgery. But what should I do if I don’t protect the wound well after the operation, which leads to wound hyperplasia? Many friends will consider the problem of scar hyperplasia before considering plastic surgery, and worry that scars will be left after the operation. In fact, there is a certain difference between scars and hyperplasia. First of all, you need to understand that as long as there is surgery, there will be hyperplasia after the surgery, because it is a sign of wound healing. Without hyperplasia, there will be no wound healing. Some hyperplasia can slowly disappear on its own after a period of time. Those that cannot disappear are what we often call scars. Therefore, there is no such thing as a "prone to hyperplasia physique". So what is "scar physique"? In fact, only a very small number of people have a scar-prone physique. Generally speaking, people with a scar-prone physique are rare in the population. The most obvious manifestation of a scar-prone constitution is that after the wound heals, the scar on the wound surface will continue to extend and expand, and will be accompanied by redness, swelling, itching or pain. Severe scar contraction will also affect the body's functional movements. Therefore, if you do not have such symptoms, you do not have a scar-prone constitution and do not need to worry too much about scars from surgery. In addition, in life, people often confuse "keloid" with scar constitution. The symptom of keloid is that after the wound heals, the scar will grow outward, forming a hard protrusion on the skin surface. Some keloids may also cause redness, swelling, itching or pain, but after the keloid grows to a certain extent, it will no longer continue to expand. Here we will share how to care for yourself after rhinoplasty surgery, which can quickly reduce swelling and make the wound heal more naturally. After rhinoplasty, the sutures in the nostrils are usually removed 5-7 days after the operation. Rhinoplasty surgery generally does not require bandaging and fixation. The doctor may only insert a sterilized cotton ball into the nostril on the side of the surgical incision. For those who use autologous bone or cartilage as stents, in addition to inserting iodoform gauze into the nostrils after the operation, the outside of the nostrils should also be fixed with adhesive tape or dental impression glue. One to two days after the stitches are removed, you can wash your face normally. Before removing the stitches, you can gently wipe the uncovered areas of your face with a soft, damp towel. Within two months after rhinoplasty, you should be careful and gentle when washing your face and avoid vigorous rubbing movements. When washing your hair, you should have help from others and keep your head tilted back instead of lowering it. During the wound healing period, you should eat a light diet, avoid smoking, drinking, spicy food, eating seafood, staying up late, and ensure good sleep and rest. Changing the dressing in time, not blowing your nose, and removing nasal crusts are the keys to postoperative incision care. On the second day after surgery, the incision needs to be disinfected again and the cotton balls in the nostrils need to be removed. The accumulation of nasal crusts in the nostrils not only easily causes infection, but also aggravates ventilation blockage. You can soften it with a wet cotton swab and then remove it carefully. During the wound healing process after rhinoplasty, the following three situations should be paid attention to. The first is the breathing difficulties caused by postoperative nasal swelling and nasal obstruction, the second is local cyanosis, and the third is local swelling. Severe blockage of the nostrils requires breathing through the mouth. Cyanosis is caused by local congestion and usually disappears within 2 weeks. Swelling may last 2-6 weeks, with the nasal dorsum during this period being higher than the final height. Generally speaking, the rhinoplasty effect will be more complete two months after the operation, and the surgical wound will be almost invisible. |
