Many women pay more attention to skin care, and there are many skin care products on our market. We all know that glycerin has the effect of skin care. In fact, coconut oil also has the effect of skin care. We can see that coconut oil has many skin care effects. Let’s take a look at the role of coconut oil in skin care. Coconut meat contains 33% oil. For thousands of years, the traditional method of extracting oil has been quite simple. Just cut the coconut meat into crumbs and boil it in water. The oil will separate and float on the water, and then you can skim it out. Another way is to squeeze coconut milk (also known as coconut milk) from the coconut meat scraps, and then let it ferment naturally for 24-36 hours to separate the oil from the water. Then take out the oil and heat it for a short time to remove the moisture. This moderate heating method is harmless to the coconut oil. There are also many ways to extract coconut oil, and the appearance, quality, taste and aroma of coconut oil obtained by different methods vary. But generally speaking, it can be divided into two major methods: one is the "purified" coconut oil that has been purified, bleached and deodorized (RBD); the other is the "cold pressed" ("virgin") coconut oil at room temperature without chemical treatment. Purified coconut oil is mostly made from dried coconut meat and is commonly used in the food industry. This type of coconut oil is generally considered healthy because its fatty acids are intact. Many people also like to consume this oil because it is colorless and odorless. Cold-pressed coconut oil is mostly made from fresh coconuts. This oil is clear like water in liquid form and white when solidified. Since it has not been treated with heat or chemicals, the oil retains its original composition and has the distinctive smell and taste of coconut. You can enjoy the benefits of coconut oil without making major changes to your lifestyle. There are three ways: 1. Use coconut oil in cooking instead of other oils; 2. Eat coconuts and coconut products regularly; 3. Apply coconut oil directly to the skin and hair so that it can be absorbed. Using coconut oil in cooking To increase your intake of medium-chain fats, the easiest way is to use coconut oil instead of other cooking oils for cooking. Since coconut oil is a saturated oil, cooking with heat does not produce free radicals. The melting point of coconut oil is 23°C. Above this temperature, it is liquid; below this temperature, it is a white paste. Its smoke point is low, below 177°C. When baking bread, muffins or cooking with coconut oil, the oven temperature can be higher than this. Due to the humidity of the food, the internal temperature can still be below 100℃. Be aware that any cooking oil, if overheated, will produce harmful substances. Coconut oil is stable and does not need to be refrigerated. It can be kept at room temperature for at least 2-3 years. Edible coconut and coconut food The protein content of coconut is equivalent to that of most vegetables, and it also contains a variety of vitamins and minerals. Fresh coconut and dried coconut meat are both good sources of fiber, which can promote the normal functioning of the digestive tract. Dried coconut meat is easily available in stores. One cup of chopped coconut meat contains about 9 grams of fiber, which is three or four times more than ordinary vegetables and fruits. Dried coconut meat contains 2.5% moisture and loses very little fat during the drying process (sunning or baking). It can be stored for several months. Fresh coconut contains 52% water, and will rot and mold within a few days after being opened (coconut food has antibacterial properties only after being ingested into our bodies and broken down into fatty acids). Fresh coconut can be used in cooking or eaten as a snack. When buying coconuts, you can first pick up the coconut and shake it. If you hear the sound of liquid inside, it is a fresh coconut. The coconut without juice inside is an old coconut. Three navels can be found on the hard shell of coconut. One of the navels can be poked through and the coconut juice can be poured into a cup for drinking. Coconut milk is colorless, slightly turbid and slightly sweet. After breaking the coconut shell, dig out the white coconut meat, use a knife to scrape off the brown outer skin of the coconut meat, and you can eat it. Coconut milk (or coconut milk) is obtained by grinding the coconut meat, squeezing out the juice and removing the coconut residue. It is milky white and opaque like milk. It has no sweetness itself and contains 17-24% fat. Coconut milk is available in cans in stores. It can be consumed hot or cold, or mixed into other beverages. It is also used as a seasoning for dishes. Coconut Oil for Skin and Hair |
