Introduction to laser acne scar removal

Introduction to laser acne scar removal

Acne scars are a very worrying problem for people with acne nowadays. Even if the acne is cured, many acne scars will still be left. This is the most worrying problem for people with acne. There are many ways to remove acne scars now, but the most effective and common method is to go to the hospital to undergo laser surgery to remove acne scars.

Now generally include pitted acne scars, hypertrophic acne scars, black acne scars, and red acne scars.

1. Concave acne scars

Pit scars are a common condition. When acne becomes too inflamed and damages too much collagen in the dermis, pits may be left due to the collapse of the dermis. Many acne patients like to squeeze pimples with their hands. If the squeezing is not appropriate, it will greatly increase the chance of suppurative infection, and it will easily turn small blackheads and pimples into big pimples, leaving scars. Once a hole is formed, it will not disappear automatically.

2. Hyperplastic acne scars

Hyperplastic acne scars are usually determined by congenital physical constitution, are the most difficult to treat, and are prone to recurrence. This type of scar is the exact opposite of a pit-shaped scar. It is a transitionally thickened scar that leaves an obvious red protrusion where the acne occurred. It looks red and swollen, and what's more serious is that it will slowly grow due to scratching or external stimulation. It often occurs in people with special physical conditions. Because the fibroblasts in the dermis of these people are too active, they overreact during the wound healing process. As a result, after the dermis is injured due to inflammation, it does not become concave but bulges out, turning into hypertrophic skin tissue hyperplasia.

3. Dark acne marks

Black acne marks are caused by pigmentation after acne becomes inflamed, leaving dark and dirty colors in the places where red acne once appeared, making the skin dull. These black colors will actually disappear slowly over time.

4. Red acne marks

The red spots are caused by inflammation of cells in the area where the acne originally occurred, which leads to dilation of blood vessels. However, the blood vessels do not shrink immediately after the acne disappears, and a flat, red, temporary erythema is formed. It will become redder when the skin temperature rises or when you exercise. This erythema is not considered a scar and will slowly fade away within half a year.

Commonly used lasers

1. OPT: The spots and pigmentation left after the inflammation of acne is controlled can be blasted by this laser to accelerate the metabolism of pigment molecules and excrete them out of the body, thereby achieving the effect of removing acne marks and whitening the skin.

2. Fractional laser: The light beam emitted by the ultra-pulse fractional laser directly acts on the dermis of the skin. Cooling scars from the dermis stimulates collagen regeneration, thereby initiating a series of skin reactions such as tissue repair and collagen rearrangement to smooth out scarred skin.

3. LED blue light laser surgery for acne scar removal: It can repair the skin in two major aspects: controlling oil secretion, shrinking pores and thus removing the basis for acne; cleaning and removing the bacteria that cause acne, eliminating the occurrence of acne and acne scars.

Although the method of using laser to remove acne scars in the hospital is effective quickly, the cost is very high. It usually costs several thousand yuan to have the operation in the hospital. Therefore, the best way to remove acne scars is to be careful not to produce too many acne scars when treating acne, and to pay attention to maintenance when you have acne.
