Can breast milk be applied to the face?

One of the problems that mothers need to face after becoming pregnant and giving birth is feeding their children with breast milk. Although the nutritional value of milk powder on the market is very high, breast milk is still the most suitable for babies during the colostrum stage because breast milk contains sufficient ingredients such as calcium phosphate. But at the same time, due to the high nutritional value of breast milk, some people use breast milk for facial applications. This is actually feasible for adults, but it is not suitable for babies with sensitive skin.

After giving birth, the mother's hormone levels change and her breasts begin to secrete milk. However, there is a gradual change in the quality and quantity of lactation. Generally, the milk produced within 4-5 days after birth is called colostrum, the milk produced 6-10 days after birth is called transitional milk, the milk produced from 11 days to 9 months after birth is called mature milk, and the milk after 10 months is called late milk. Because colostrum contains a lot of salts such as calcium phosphate and calcium chloride, it has a mild laxative effect. Colostrum also has a higher calorie content than mature milk.

Breast milk contains protein and oil, and the skin can absorb the nutrients in the milk. Washing your face with breast milk can make our skin smoother and more radiant, but using breast milk is not all good. Here we will introduce the disadvantages of washing your face with breast milk.

It can easily cause folliculitis in babies and even cause purulent infection of the skin around the hair follicles. The skin of a newborn baby is delicate, rich in blood vessels, has a thin stratum corneum and strong air permeability, which creates favorable conditions for bacteria to enter the body through the pores. Therefore, washing the face with milk can easily cause folliculitis in the baby, and even cause purulent infection of the skin around the hair follicles. If not treated promptly, systemic infections such as sepsis may occur, which is a very dangerous condition. In addition, after washing your face with milk, a tight film will form on the surface of the skin, which will restrict the movement of facial muscles and make you very uncomfortable. Never use breast milk to wash your baby's face, or your own face, as it can easily cause infection.

Although breast milk is sufficient, it cannot be wasted like this. Another thing is that you must pay attention to the method. Never wash your baby's face with breast milk. If it really comes out, we will regret it in the future.
