Four common methods of eyebrow transplantation

The shape of many people's eyebrows will affect their personal image and facial features. In daily life, you will find that drawing eyebrows is very difficult. Some people who have just started to learn how to draw eyebrows will not draw their eyebrows well. Some people are born with few eyebrows, which affects their personal image. Therefore, you can plant eyebrows in your daily life. Let us take a look at these methods below.

Common methods of eyebrow transplantation:

1. Island flap method: Following the course of the superficial temporal artery and based on the extent of the eyebrow defect, an island scalp flap is designed and implanted in the eyebrow defect area. This eyebrow transplantation method is suitable for men with thick eyebrows.

2. Scalp graft method behind the ear: This eyebrow transplantation method is suitable for those with unilateral eyebrow defect or bilateral eyebrow defect or sparse eyebrows. The surgery is performed under local anesthesia. For patients with unilateral defect, the shape of the eyebrow on the affected side is designed based on the eyebrow on the healthy side. For double eyebrow defects, the design is made based on the ideal eyebrow shape. The wound surface should be slightly wider than the designed eyebrow shape to prevent the repaired eyebrows from being too narrow due to insufficient hair growth caused by damage to the edge hair follicles during scalp cutting. A skin graft was cut from behind the ear on the affected side and implanted on the pre-separated wound on the affected side. The donor area was sutured directly.

3. Ring drill cluster implantation method: suitable for smaller defects. The method is similar to planting rice seedlings. Use a trephine drill to cut a small pattern wound in the eyebrow defect area on the affected side. At the same time, drill a graft from a denser part of the scalp and transplant it to the pre-prepared pattern wound and bandage it lightly.

4. Temporal flap method: Design a narrow and long flap in the temporal part on the same side of the eyebrow defect, delay it once, and then transfer the flap. These methods of eyebrow transplantation are currently the most common.
