Do you know the side effects of laser hair removal?

Laser hair removal is very common nowadays. In terms of medical treatment, it is mainly used for people with excessive sweat hair and long hair. Local and thorough hair removal is required. Laser hair removal damages the sweat gland tissue of the skin, insulates it through heat, burns the surface, and damages local pores. Naturally, sweat hair will not grow again, so there are still some hazards of laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal side effects and complications

Pigmentation:

After skin damage, there will definitely be a change in color. It will be pink when the scab falls off, gradually transition to dark brown, and finally fade to the same color as the surrounding skin.

Sebaceous gland deficiency eczema:

The sebaceous glands are located near the hair shaft, and the duct openings are located below the pores. Hair removal can easily cause pore occlusion and damage to the sebaceous glands, leading to this disease.

Thermal damage to the skin:

Failure to properly insert the hair removal needle, leaving the insulating part away from the skin, or pressing the switch too early during the needle insertion process can cause epidermal burns.

Buried hair:

The hair follicles are not completely destroyed and the pores are closed, so the regenerated mutant hair cannot pass through the pores normally and smoothly.

Internal bleeding:

Inadequate preoperative examination, certain blood diseases, rough operation with bent needle tip, and strenuous activity after surgery can all cause internal bleeding.

Folliculitis:

It can be caused by improper disinfection of the hair removal needle and skin before surgery, retention of contents and pore occlusion after surgery.

Local redness and swelling:

It is mainly a specific reaction caused by tissue thermal vaporization, and may also be a manifestation of infection.

Depigmentation:

Postoperative infection and softening of scars may eventually cause discoloration.
