Cupping for acne treatment

Cupping for acne treatment

If people do not pay attention to personal hygiene of their face in normal times, or if there are reasons such as endocrine disorders, symptoms of acne may occur. It is difficult to achieve a better therapeutic effect using Western medicine to treat acne. It always recurs after being cured. The effect of traditional Chinese medicine treatment is quite good, and there are many methods that can cure the symptoms of acne. So can cupping cure acne directly? Let’s talk about it today.

It is easy to get acne when it is hot. Chinese medicine believes that acne is mostly caused by heat in the blood. Cupping combined with bloodletting treatment can clear away heat toxins, remove dampness and dredge the meridians. Generally, after 2 to 3 treatments, the "fire" will disappear immediately and acne can gradually calm down and disappear.

Li Shucheng, deputy chief physician of the Acupuncture Department of Foshan Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, introduces a simple method of cupping to treat acne:

1. Prepare 2 to 3 cupping jars;

2. Select 2 to 3 relatively large acne spots on the back, prick them with a three-edged needle (or an injection needle) to cause bleeding, and squeeze out a few drops of brown-brown blood. Stop squeezing when the squeezed blood turns bright red.

3. The method of cupping is to use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol to wipe the inner wall of the cup, light a candle (or lighter), heat the inner wall of the cup, use the heat to expel the air in the cup, and then quickly buckle it on the selected part of the cup. Note: Cupping time should not exceed 10 minutes. Generally, it is best to pull until the skin turns purple and red without blisters. If the time is too long, blisters and infections are likely to occur in hot weather.

If there is no acne on the back, you can also cupping the lung point and spleen point.

Method of locating the Feishu point: The patient sits down, lowers his head, and touches a protruding cervical vertebra, which is the 7th cervical vertebra. Counting down 3 vertebrae is the 3rd thoracic vertebra, and 1.5 inches to the side is the Feishu point.

How to locate the Pishu point: It is located on the 11th thoracic vertebra, 8 vertebrae down from the Feishu point, and 1.5 inches to the side is the Pishu point.

When using cupping to treat acne, you must pay attention to the cleanliness of the cup. In addition, your face should be cleaned promptly after cupping to keep it clean and dry. In addition to using cupping and other methods to treat acne, you should also pay more attention to maintenance in normal times. Don't eat spicy food or overly greasy food. Don't smoke or drink, and eat more light food.
