In addition to skin reasons, hypertrophy of the orbicularis oculi muscle is also a major reason for the appearance of "flesh strips" after double eyelid surgery. This is more common in the "non-incision method". Since the double eyelid line is slightly sunken, the orbicularis oculi muscle in front of the tarsal plate is not removed and it will appear bloated. "Minimally invasive" and "three-point" incision methods have small incisions and are almost performed under blind vision. They can only remove a little orbicularis oculi muscle or remove it unevenly. Therefore, for those with good upper eyelid skin elasticity and thin eyelids, "buried suture method" or "minimally invasive" and "three-point" incision methods can be selected; and for those with swollen eyelids; generally, orbital septum fat is often combined with hypertrophy of the orbicularis oculi muscle. When choosing surgery, do not blindly pursue "buried suture method", "minimally invasive" and "three-point" incision methods, "full incision method" may be the best choice.
