9 tips to help you quickly solve summer skin problems

We all make mistakes when applying makeup or taking care of our hair, but thankfully, there's a quick fix for almost every situation that doesn't require a ton of time and effort to fix or start over. Just try these simple beauty remedies to help you solve your problems.

Problem 1: Red lipstick on teeth

Dancing red lips are the epitome of sexiness. However, it's not until you smile that you realize that it seems that your lipstick has stuck from your lips to your two front teeth. Not only will it make you feel embarrassed, but the so-called sexiness will also disappear without a trace in an instant.

Solution: Every time you put on red lipstick, remember to press a tissue on your lips to absorb the lipstick. Then place your index finger on the tissue, press it toward your mouth, and slowly pull it out so you can get rid of any lipstick that may have accidentally gotten on the inside of your lips. For extra protection, apply a super-light layer of Vaseline cream over your entire upper teeth; this will make the surface so smooth that lipstick won't stick to it.

Problem 2: Eyeshadow powder falls off and gets on the cheeks

Applying eyeshadow after foundation is a likely time-consuming mistake. Why? Because that little bit of excess eyeshadow often ends up flakes off and sticks to your cheeks, and then you have to wipe your face immediately.

Problem 3: Mascara Fly Legs

Anyone who applies mascara will encounter the problem of fly legs, right?

Solution: First, shake your mascara up and down; it may have dried out over time. Next, hold a baby wipe between your index finger and thumb and gently pinch your lashes and pull forward to remove any excess mascara. Then use your fingertips to apply a little Vaseline cream to the ends of your lashes to separate them, apply another coat of mascara, and use an eyelash curler to create a curled effect.

Problem 4: Too much blush

Maybe you went heavy on the blush? You could wash your face and then scribble all over it, or you could just go completely wild and walk out the door like a fool. Here, we don’t vote either way.

Solution: If your blush is powder, add some translucent loose powder to the sides of your cheeks to soften the color. If you're using a cream blush, use a sponge to apply a small amount of liquid foundation over the blush to lighten the color.

Problem 5: Wearing too much perfume

Maybe you're a little overzealous with your perfume. It might not cause you any major trouble, but now everyone within a two-kilometre radius can smell it.

Solution: To quickly reduce a strong fragrance without showering, try one of three methods on the over-perfumed areas: 1) apply an unscented lotion to mask the scent; 2) wipe off some of the perfume with baby wipes; or 3) wipe the perfumed skin with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol to neutralize the scent.

Problem 6: Uneven tanning

Bronze here, white there. This is understandable if you made a mistake using tanning products. After all, practice makes perfect.

Solution: Use a liquid tanning product to cover any uneven color caused by tanning. If that doesn't work, cover with a layer of body tanning powder to create a sexy, even tan.

Problem 7: Frizzy Hair

I don't know when it started, but my hair tends to get tangled together and become extremely frizzy.

Solution: If battling frizz is a daily struggle, keep a box of dryer towels under your bathroom sink and in your laundry room. Take out a towel and dry your hair thoroughly to reduce the chance of hair sticking together due to moisture and let the troublesome hair fall naturally and smoothly. (Bonus: It'll make your hair smell great, too!)

Question 8: A pimple suddenly appeared on my face

Since when did I have to fight against the occasional pimples?

Solution: To reduce swelling and inflammation, wrap an ice cube in a tissue and press it against the pimple for 5 to 10 minutes. Follow up with antibiotic ointment to ensure protection from infection, and cover any remaining redness with concealer.

Problem 9: Nails are yellowish in color

Wearing black nail polish may seem very trendy, but if you wear it all the time it may make your natural nail color look as if they have been permanently dyed a terrible sunflower shade. So what to do now?

Solution: To restore your nail beds to their natural nude hue, mix ¼ cup of hydrogen peroxide and a few drops of fresh lemon juice in a plastic bowl. Soak several cotton balls in the mixture and rub them on your fingernails and toenails until the yellow color is removed. Every time you apply nail polish in the future, make sure to apply two layers of nail base coat first!
