How to treat facial xanthoma

Facial xanthoma is a common type of xanthoma , mostly appearing on the eyelids. It is usually a yellow or orange patch of skin caused by lipid deposition on the eyelids. It is the size of a grain of rice at first, protruding from the skin, and then gradually becomes more severe and covers the entire eyelid. For this disease, you can pay attention to your diet. First of all, your weight should be balanced and you should not be too fat. You should reduce your calorie intake, drink less alcohol, and eat more low-cholesterol, low-sugar and low-fat foods. Then your condition will gradually improve.

If dietary treatment is ineffective , contact cryotherapy and surgical resection can be adopted for those who strongly desire surgery. The contact freezing method is to use a cotton swab dipped in liquid nitrogen to contact the xanthomas. The freeze-thaw cycle is when the local area turns white and then returns to its original yellow color. Depending on the thickness of the xanthomas, 6 to 12 freeze-thaw cycles can be applied.

Do not get the area wet after freezing . The xanthomas will fall off in about a week. The remaining parts or recurring ones can be frozen again. Surgical removal can easily cause deformation of the eyes, so you should choose with caution. Skin scar removal beauty device can treat facial xanthomas at one time. However, due to the advantages of erbium laser treatment, the boundary between the local lesion tissue and the general lesion is particularly clear and easy to distinguish, the depth of treatment is well controlled, there is less bleeding during the operation, the pain is light, and the postoperative scar is not obvious, so it is very popular among doctors and patients who are careful in operation.

If they do not disappear, clofibrate can be taken for treatment, and niacin can also be taken (3 grams per day, taken during meals). Boiling the Chinese medicine hawthorn and corn silk in water and drinking it also has a certain therapeutic effect, so you can keep taking it; Surgical treatment: For patients with normal blood lipids, contact cryotherapy or laser therapy can be used for treatment. Among them, cryotherapy is convenient and easy to adjust, and the cost is also low.
