What causes enlarged pores?

Enlarged pores are a very common skin problem, but many people don’t know what causes them. Simply put, enlarged pores are generally caused by excessive sebum secretion, and endocrine disorders in the body can also lead to enlarged pores. People with large pores must pay attention to shrinking their pores.

1. Excessive application of skin care products leads to enlarged pores

The "pores", the skin's important communication channels with the outside world, expand under the heavy use of skin care products, trying to adjust the skin to the most suitable condition.

2. Excessive oil secretion

Excessive oil secretion is a common feature of everyone with large pores, because excessive oil secretion will clog the pores, affect the skin's metabolism, and the garbage in the skin will enlarge the pores.

3. Applying too much foundation can cause enlarged pores

For people who spend a long time on makeup, using airtight foundation and over-reliance on emulsions, ointments, creams or isolation milks will cause the skin pores to be "stuffy" for a long time. Not only can the pores not breathe, but the sebum metabolites inside will have no way to vent, so the sebum that is slowly metabolized for 8 hours a day is blocked at the exit, waiting for the opportunity to be discharged. Of course, the temporary shelter of the pores will become larger and larger! And high-factor sunscreen will also become one of the culprits of clogging pores in the summer.

4. Improper makeup removal leads to enlarged pores

Is it enough to clean off all the makeup and dirt on your face? NO!!! This makeup removal step does not absolutely clean the pore funnel area and is not a comprehensive makeup removal. In addition to daily makeup removal, you should also include a deep cleansing facial mask in your weekly care.

5. Strong degreasing facial cleanser causes enlarged pores

Long-term excessive cleansing will only wash away the lipids between keratin cells that cannot be replaced, and will have no effect on the oil supply system of the sebaceous glands, the oil depot. Therefore, washing your skin frequently will only cause the stratum corneum on the surface of the skin to lose its effective moisturizing ability, making the skin "oily on the outside and dry on the inside".
