What are the harms of lipstick to the body

For women who love beauty. Lipstick is indispensable. Many women own many lipsticks and will change them every day. Some women even feel they cannot go out without lipstick. So in daily life, when women put on lipstick, they will inevitably eat some lipstick. Although everyone doesn’t care about this, eating too much lipstick will always bring some harm to the body. Now let’s talk about the harm of lipstick to the body.

The harm of lipstick to the body

1. The main ingredients of lipstick are lanolin, wax and dyes. Due to the complex composition of lanolin, it is easy to cause allergic reactions, such as chapped and peeling lip mucosa, and sometimes itchy or slight pain in the lips.

2. The lanolin in lipstick has strong adsorption capacity and can adsorb dust, bacteria, viruses and some heavy metal ions in the air onto the lip mucosa. When people drink water or eat food, they can bring lipstick and the harmful substances on it into their mouths and enter the body directly.

3. The coal tar dyes used in all lipsticks are terrible carcinogens, and the amount of this substance contained in lipsticks has far exceeded the amount allowed in food. After putting on lipstick, it is inevitable that the lipstick will be licked off and enter the human body unintentionally while talking, drinking tea or eating.

4. According to relevant foreign data, among young female cancer patients, 18.2% of the causes are related to lipstick. Lipstick contains high amounts of heavy metals such as lead and cadmium. Lead is cumulative. Long-term inhalation by the human body may lead to chronic lead poisoning, causing anemia, abdominal pain, acute renal failure, and brain neuropathy.

?5. Preservatives and antioxidants such as BHA. These substances have been proven to be quasi-carcinogens. For example, preservatives (paraben) can cause breast tumors.

6. Artificial pigments in lipstick may turn into mutagens and cause cancer under ultraviolet light.

7. Sweet-smelling lipsticks contain saccharin, which has been proven to cause cancer if consumed in excess.

Precautions for using lipstick

1. Do not buy inferior lipsticks without any labels. Try to choose colorless and odorless products to reduce the impact of pigments and fragrances on the body.

2. Don’t lick your lipstick after applying it. It is best to wipe it off before meals.

3. Wipe off lipstick when removing makeup.
