How to fade a tattoo? These are the correct methods!

Although many young people nowadays like tattoos, we need to remind everyone that there are many precautions for tattoos. You must consider carefully before getting a tattoo, because once a tattoo is formed, it is not easy to wash it off or fade it. In severe cases, it may cause damage to the skin tissue. If you want to fade a tattoo, you must use scientific methods. Common methods are listed below.

How to fade a tattoo?

1. Chemical etching method

Generally, a dilute weak acid solution is used to cause superficial burns on the skin, causing the pigment to fall off along with the necrotic tissue.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine tattoo removal

The principle of this method of tattoo removal is to use chemical burning. If a small amount of it is used on locally discolored cells, the target tissue can be burned and carbonized. The effect is very good. Because the amount of medicine is not large, the damage to the surrounding good tissue is not great. Even if there is a little damage, the good tissue can be easily repaired quickly. However, if it is used in large quantities on normal skin, excessive burning will produce sunken scars. If the skin is disturbed and damaged by long-term and slow burning, hypertrophic scars will be produced due to excessive continuous repair.

3. High-frequency electronic needle tattoo removal

This method uses electric current to generate high-voltage electric sparks to burn the skin, dehydrating it and carbonizing it, causing skin cells to die, form scabs, and fall off, taking away the color. However, due to the function of horizontal growth of the epidermis, the deep color is difficult to wash off, and the burned deep skin will leave a layer called "semi-carbonized hardened layer tissue", which will affect the upward growth of the deep tissue. So please note that deep tattoo removal will definitely leave scars.

4. Laser ablation

A method of removing pigments by burning and carbonizing the superficial layer of skin tissue with laser.

5. Liquid nitrogen freezing method

Liquid nitrogen is used to freeze the superficial skin tissue, causing it to necrotize and fall off, thereby removing the tattoo tissue.

6. Dermabrasion

The superficial layer of the skin is mechanically abraded to remove the pigment inside.

Each treatment should not be too deep. If the removal is not thorough, it can be repeated. Depending on the depth of the skin removed each time, each recovery takes 1-2 weeks, and there is a 1-3 month interval between each treatment. The disadvantages are that the skin may be pigmented or lost after the operation; scars will be left when the skin is removed too deeply, and it is difficult to completely remove darker pigments.

7. Excision and suturing method and excision and skin grafting method

For deeper tattoo patterns, consider surgically removing the entire layer of skin in the affected area. If the wound is small, it can be sutured directly. Due to a certain tension, a more obvious scar will be left after the operation. If the wound is difficult to suture, consider removing thinner skin (split-thickness skin graft) from other parts of the body such as the thigh for skin grafting. The disadvantage is that the color and texture of the grafted area will be poor after the operation.

8. Laser tattoo removal

The principle is to use laser to act on the affected area, breaking the pigment particles into extremely small particles without causing skin burns, and gradually excreting them from the body through the urinary system through blood circulation. This method does not damage the living tissue of the skin, leaves no scars after the operation, and has good results.

This is currently the better option for treating tattoos, but it is expensive.
